Amazon has announced that it is set to explore the rivalry between American toy giants Hasbro and Barbie with Toy Wars, which will see Josh Gad (The Angry Birds Movie) starring and co-writing with Josh Schwartz (The O.C.) and Ryan Dixon (Opening Night). Schwartz is set to serve as showrunner, with Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses) directing.
The project is based upon G. Wayne Miller’s non-fiction book Toy Wars: The Epic Struggle Between G.I. Joe, Barbie, and the Companies that Make Them, and follows “Alan Hassenfeld, a free spirit who never intended to be an executive. He was thrust into the spotlight, taking the reins of Hasbro when his older brother Stephen, the marketing genius who had built up the family toy company into a powerhouse, died of AIDS.”
Toy Marks marks a reunion for Gad and Dixon, who previously collaborated on the script for the as-yet-unrealised Twins sequel Triplets. »

Kevin Smith hasn’t had the best of luck with critics these past few years, and sure enough his latest offering Yoga Hosers is no exception, with the film torn to shreds by the majority of reviewers on its way to 22% on Rotten Tomatoes (although we kind of liked it – read our reviews here and here).
Well, with the Tusk spinoff opening in theaters across North America this weekend, Smith has decided to face the critical backlash head on, teaming up with his Hollywood Babble-On co-host and Yoga Hosers co-star Ralph Garman to sift through some of the most damning reviews. Take a look here…

Just a few short days after making a very rare, very adorable public appearance with his wife, Leighton Meester, Adam Brody is at it again in New York City. The actor was spotted looking good enough to eat on two separate outings on Tuesday, first leaving the Today show, then stopping by The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. The dad of daughter Arlo is busy making the TV rounds to promote his new movie, StartUp. Between his very Seth Cohen-esque smile and those sexy shades, we're almost as overheated as The O.C. »

For years, Marvel has been teasing a Runaways movie. In fact, it was originally planned for Phase 1, but it kept getting bumped by better known superheroes such as Captain America and Thor. It was indefinitely delayed because Marvel decided to move forward on The Avengers instead. It was never subsequently announced that Runaways would be part of Phase 2 or Phase 3, though Marvel boss Kevin Feige refused to say the project was dead. While some speculated that it would be announced as a Marvel Phase 4 movie, turns out the studio had different plans altogether.
Marvel's Runaways is now officially going to be a TV show instead of a movie. Specifically, it will become a Hulu series, bypassing Netflix. It's not yet clear what this means for the McU and its inter-connective tissue. It's been teased for a while now that the Marvel TV shows and the movies are not really meant to crossover. »

Among the many Marvel TV shows taking the world by storm, one more fantastic comic is being added to the ranks. Marvel's Runaways are coming to Hulu! Find out more below!
Every teenager thinks their parents are evil. What if you found out they actually were? "Marvel's Runaways" is the story of six diverse teenagers who can barely stand each other but who must unite against a common foe--their parents.
For those unfamiliar with the popular comic Runaways, this is the overall synopsis of the series and boy was it a good series. Each teen has their own unique set of abilities, but yet they're just starting to learn about them. Instead of your run-of-the-mill superhero origin story having a parental-figure there to help them through it, these guys just have each other and none of them know how to help.
So, when Marvel announced that Hulu would be the home for Marvel's Runaways, »

Hulu is getting into the Marvel business: The streaming platform is developing an adaptation of Marvel title Runaways, the fan-favorite comic series created by Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona, Deadline first reported. Runaways is in development at Hulu but, contrary to reports elsewhere, does not yet have a series order, a source tells HitFix. Set to serve as showrunners are Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, whose credits include Gossip Girl and The O.C. — so both have had successes in the realm of TV about teens. Runaways is about a group of superpowered teens who learn that their parents are part of an evil crime organization. Shortly after the news broke, Schwartz tweeted out his enthusiasm to be aboard the Vaughan-based project. Hulu Orders ‘Marvel’s Runaways’ — Dream project. Hulu is getting into business with Marvel.
The streaming service has ordered a pilot for “Marvel’s Runaways” from “Gossip Girl” creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, Variety has confirmed. Though Hulu has not greenlit the project to series at this point, sources say Hulu ordered a full season script, in addition to the pilot.
“Marvel’s Runways” is a younger-skewing superhero story, centering around a group of teenagers who discover that their parents are in an evil crime organization. Schwartz and Savage will co-write and serve as showrunners, which will follow six diverse teens who can’t stand each other, but must unite against a common foe — their parents.

For many fans of The O.C., Seth Cohen was more than just your passing crush from a TV show. Adam Brody's iconic character was the Juicy logo to your terrycloth pants, the pumps under your flared Sevens, and the blinding bling on your brick phone. Our lockers, thoughts and bedroom walls were plastered with his adorable self-dubbed "Jew fro." Your parents thought you had a problem, but all of your friends understood. Forget Ryan Atwood and his casual man choker; Cohen was your imaginary husband, and there was nothing you or anyone could do about it. Why? His undeniable ability to eloquently explain every moment of your angst-ridden youth. 13 years later, on this anniversary of The O.C., his wisdom is still a »

Sarah Pinborough’s chilling book, 13 Minutes, will soon be rising from the dead on Netflix.
I was dead for 13 minutes.
I don't remember how I ended up in the icy water but I do know this—it wasn't an accident and I wasn't suicidal.
You’ll find out why when Sarah Pinborough’s young adult thriller 13 Minutes arrives on Netflix. The flood of mean girls, social media and creepy flashbacks is being adapted by (appropriately enough) Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, the creators of Gossip Girl.
13 Minutes proves that popularity can be fatal. After the drowned corpse (or what looks like a corpse) of high school 'it' girl Natasha is found by an unsuspecting dog walker, she returns to consciousness to find out that she almost perished in a freezing river for 13 minutes.
Ominous patterns of 13 start materialising everywhere after her brush with the beyond. Her friends »
The thriller was published earlier this year and centers on a popular high school student named Natasha. She’s discovered by a dog-walker, apparently drowned in a freezing river and dead for 13 minutes before starting to breathe again.
Natasha had been the leader of the Barbies, but the other group members are now cool to her. She also begins seeing patterns of 13.
Schwartz and Savage, who created The CW’s “Gossip Girl,” are on board to write the adaptation and produce through their Fake Empire company. De Luca Productions’ executive Lucy Kitada is executive producing along with Fake Empire’s Lis Rowinski.
