Copy paste of Saawan Badhon(1970)
silvan-desouza1 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The film released at a time when Sanju was struggling to make a comeback in Hindi films after his drug rehab. The film is however a copy of Saawan Badhon(1970) and if you have seen that film you can predict every scene. The film also follows the same formula

Direction is okay Music is okay Sanjay Dutt acts well those days he was quite raw but yet does well in his role(s) Anita Raj is okay Bindu,Gulshan Grover and all are okay

The film was later remade as Chuppa Rustam in 2001

The film is quite interesting if you havent seen the original but follows cliches and the director fails to add anything new.

Sanju Baba gets it right!

Mera Haque review :

After Naam, this was another success for Sanjay Dutt in 1986 which saw him make a comeback after his drug wala phase. Anita Raaj looked hot and sexy as the gaon ki gori Bijlee who falls for the local prince played by Dutt. Only prince dear is bumped off by his step maa (Bindu, who else!!) and her cronies (Ramesh Deo, Shakti Kapoor, Gulshan Grover) but to their shock, a doppelganger replaces him and tries to usurp all the wealth.

The plot was inspired from Sawan Bhadon (1970) and remade again as Chhupa Rustom (2001) with Sanjay Kapoor in the lead.

Regards, Sumeet Nadkarni.

An Entertaining Movie
eureqa24 December 2006
One of Sanjay Dutt's earlier movies that is quite entertaining. It released somewhere in between "Naam" and "Inaam Dus Hazaar" and is nowhere close to the above mentioned movies. Yet it is good fun and makes for interesting viewing. It has a decent storyline and good performances by all the principal actors. Anu Malik's music is passable, save for the Kishore Kumar -- Anuradha Paudwal duet "Kaala Kauwa Dekhta hai." Action sequences are quite good but the production values are pretty ordinary. Can't blame it on the makers though. The movie was made in the 1980s where few makers dared to spend money. It was a plus movie though and was later remade as "Chhupa Rustam" -- a Sanjay Kapoor-starrer.
