A terrorist, Michael Kittredge, posing as an environmentalist protester leads a team of highly-skilled mercenaries to take control of an oil rig off the coast of California, intending to detonate an electromagnetic bomb over the United States, striking a sort of "new Pearl Harbor" attack on behalf of enemies to the nation. What Kittredge didn't count on is a tugboat captain, Lamont Dixon, who survives an attack on his ship, and is soon recruited by an FBI agent to infiltrate the oil rig and procure information about their plans... and if possible, stop them. In the process, Dixon meets an eager computer expert aboard the oil rig who helps Dixon even as he gets on his nerves and Lamont suspects he can't really trust him. Written by

Post-production ADR was apparently performed when some of the actors were not available. Thus, there are several points where they have been looped by other performers who only sound vaguely like them. In addition, Hannes Jaenicke's entire performance has been re-voiced by someone else. See more »

Jamal:
Next thing I know, I hook up with his band of warriors and I'm in the middle of this mess. People shooting, they tell me to electrocute you, the girl keeps hitting me in the face, you knocked me out. I'm dealing with a lot of stuff here.

It feels like a recycling of all "die hard" movies combined with some segal flicks! of course they cant get away with that so they put in a kid.. This way they could add a family drama type background and an angsty fireman. All they needed more was a hint of sex.. Which they clumsily poured in at the end! The movie runs like a train! Which is undeniably good, the problem is the background. You shouldn't think too much, actually I advise against thinking at all. You need to accept a lot of facts. One of the harder ones is a fireman who in the end turns out to be a near superman! I also have to admit.. the whole plot really doesn't get me worried about who wins! I really didn't care enough! Or any of my friends.
Its a nice no brainer, but don't spoil too much money on it!
