Comic-Con International and Lionsgate unveiled last week to launch Comic-Con HQ, a subscription video-on-demand service to archive Comic-Con activities, to offer new programming shows and to offer daily discussions on comic books, movies and television.

Here are some definite features the service will provide: original series (scripted and unscripted), with one of those being the series Kings of Con; two roundtable discussion shows, one featuring female perspective of pop culture; and a 1:1 interview series from Adam Sessler (X-Play).

Comic-Con and Lionsgate Partner Up to Create New Streaming Service

  • Cinelinx
A new streaming service is coming over the summer, when Lionsgate and the people behind Comic-Con join forces to create Cchq! The result sounds a lot like a former cable TV channel. Come inside for more details.

For those of you new to the cable scene, there was once a TV channel dedicated to nerds. It was known as G4. G4 housed a plethora of amazing shows like the original Japanese Ninja Warrior, X Play, and Attack of the Show. After some epic years, the channel was cancelled and changed to Esquire, which is still a good channel but anywhere near as great as G4. Now, it seems like Lionsgate and Comic-con are coming together to form something very similar.

Below is the complete Press Release of the service!

Comic-Con International and Lionsgate (NYSE:lgf) today unveiled launch plans for Comic-Con HQ, their newly named subscription video-on-demand (Svod) platform debuting shortly

Pax 2013: 'Titanfall' - You Just Can't Prepare For This One

"Titanfall," the first game from Respawn Entertainment, made its hands-on debut at gamescom in Germany, and then on North American shores at Pax Prime. Inside the game, which is a first-person shooter, you can call down enormous mechs called "Titans," which provide the ultimate in vehicular combat. When one is assembled and ready for you, they plummet from low-earth orbit, and crash to ground wherever you have designated. As they drop, the operator (voiced by Abbie Heppe, formerly of G4 and X-Play) barks "Prepare for Titanfall." But no matter what you do, you just can't prepare yourself for this one until you get your hands on it.

Despite only having one map and one mode available at Pax, as the game isn't out until 2014, "Titanfall" had one of the longest lines at the show, full of gamers eager to get their hands on the latest and greatest from the original

God of War: Ascension Chooses Controversy Before Gamers, Gets Launch-Day Patch

Kratos, anti-hero of the upcoming God of War: Ascension, has never been known to hold back. Hell, he decapitated an Olympian god with his bare hands and gutted a titan from the inside, spilling guts and gallons of blood without a nanosecond of hesitation. So it’s only natural that God of War developers Sony Santa Monica want to ratchet up the brutality in order to avoid the dreaded been-there-done-that syndrome. Unfortunately, reaching that goal meant striking the nerve of many gamers and press members, but the uproar isn’t even stemming from the violence.

Just as a heads up, the next paragraph might have minor spoilers, so read at your own caution!

Now, it’s a no-brainer that Kratos will absolutely triumph over almost all his major opponents, given that God of War: Ascension is a prequel. In one of his encounters with a major female character though, Kratos

Adam Sessler Does a Fantastic Job Defending Games in Fox News Interview

  • Cinelinx
Video games and violence has become, yet again, another hot button topic as of late, which has prompted some of the most ridiculous statements we've heard from politicians so far (including one made today).  In the media, the game industry and gamers on the whole can't seem to catch a break, but during an interview with Fox News, Adam Sessler sets some people straight.

Though many remember Sessler for his goofy antics on X-Play, he's one of the more intelligent speakers when it comes to video games around (he's intelligent in general).  He speaks with clarity, sound logic, and experience that's hard to discount...all which he brings to bear during this interview with Fox News.  Fox News is somewhat notorious for blaming video games and gamers when bad things happen, so it's nice to watch Sessler talk so rationally and convincingly with them.

The man makes a lot of excellent points,

Adam Sessler Joins Revision3's Game Division

A while ago, Adam Sessler of G4’s X-Play fame announced he was leaving the company and the show altogether. Many fans were in outrage. Not so much at Sessler himself, but more so at the television channel. You see, G4 has been going down a spiraling destruction course for quite a while now.

I personally cannot pinpoint exactly when this started, but I would assume it was around the time Olivia Munn decided to move on, and also around the time when the station started playing nonstop re-runs of Cops and Cheaters. Others would say that the channel was doomed from the start, when it initially merged with TechTV. But nevertheless the fact that we are losing more and more of our favorite geek/gamer programming is making people very sad (me included).

But now Sessler has re-emerged on another show, but you will not find this on your cable provider.

‘X-Play’ Vet Adam Sessler Bringing His Whimsy To Revision3′s Rev3Games

Revision3's Rev3Games has quickly become one of the most likeable and entertaining gaming news teams on the Internet. The channel's three hosts--Tara Long, Max Scoville, and Anthony Carboni--recently made news by hosting a 24-hour gaming marathon for charity. Today, that terrific trio became a fearsome foursome. Revision3 has announced that veteran gaming host Adam Sessler will join the network as an executive producer, where he will step in as a regular contributor to Rev3Games. Sessler made a name for himself as a host of the humorous video game reviews show X-Play. Sessler was a host for over 14 years on X-Play, and he followed the show from TechTV to G4, where he and co-host Morgan Webb were a popular pair. Sessler left G4 in 2012, and by moving to Rev3Games he will be reunited with several of his former TechTV colleagues, including HD Nation and Tekzilla

'Attack Of the Show' and 'X-Play' canceled by G4

G4 is revamping its network, and in the process, it will end the run of two of its flagship series, "Attack of the Show" and "X-Play." The shows will end in December, with two months of build-up to their farewell episodes. Both shows have run well over 1000 episodes each.

"Attack of the Show and X-Play have been important for G4, and we want to acknowledge the creative people who have helped inspire and showcase the phenomenon of gamer culture," G4 Media general manager Adam Stotsky tells TVGuide. "With more than 3,000 episodes aired between them, we have more than enough great material to honor these innovators and their amazing contributions as we bring both shows to a close."

John Barrowman, Michael Ian Black, Josh Myers, Paul Scheer, Rob Huebel and Horatio Sanz are expected to co-host "Attack of the Show" with Candace Bailey and Sara Underwood over the next few months.

G4 cancels the two series that more or less defined G4, Attack Of The Show and X-Play

Hoping to free up more airtime for Cops reruns, apparently, G4 has announced via press release that it will end the long-running X-Play and Attack Of The Show this year. The move comes as something of a surprise considering that Attack Of The Show in particular is seen as G4's signature series, its balancing of geeking out over technology and games with celebrity interviews, random drooling over females, and former host Olivia Munn pandering to the show's primarily male audience all but summing up the network to viewers who were only familiar with it in passing. X-Play cornered ...

G4 cancels 'Attack of the Show' and 'X-Play'
It looks like it's game over for two of cable's most beloved geek-friendly shows.  "Attack of the Show" and "X-Play" will soon be no more, but G4 is giving fans some time to say goodbye. The two popular series will come to an end as part of the network's plan to make itself over next year, according to TVGuide. Both shows will air new episodes through December, and will wrap up production by the end of the year. For the final episodes, "Attack of the Show" co-hosts Candace Bailey and Sara Underwood will be joined by several guest hosts, including comedians Michael Ian...

'Attack of the Show!' 'X-Play' Canceled
G4 is cancelling "Attack of the Show!" and "X-Play," two giddily nerdy shows that helped define the network. Both shows will end production at the end of the year after 1,700 episodes of "Attack of the Show" and 1,300 episodes of "X-Play." "Attack of the Show!," perhaps best known for launching the career of former host Olivia Munn, has focused since its 2005 debut on technology, games, pop culture, movies and videos. Candace Bailey and Sara Underwood now host. The gaming-obsessed "X-Play" debuted in 2003 on G4's previous incarnation, TechTV. It is now

G4 Calling an End to 'Attack of the Show!'

G4 Calling an End to 'Attack of the Show!'
Last month rumblings began that G4, the network launched in 2002 as a platform for programming about gaming and, later, more general geek culture, would be rebranded by parent company NBCUniversal as what Variety described as a more "sophisticated" direction "reminiscent of GQ, the magazine for the 'modern male' whose interests span beyond the dorm room or messy bachelor pad." While continuing to focus on a young male audience, the channel will apparently be given a new look and a potential name change. And today the network announced that it's ending two of its major shows, the game-centric "X-Play" and the channel's flagship live program "Attack of the Show," which helped launch Olivia Munn's career and is currently hosted by Candace Bailey and Sara Underwood. According to G4, both shows will continue through the end of the year "and will look back at their most memorable moments as we lead up to their.
