The show began on 16 September 2002 to 10 cities/markets across the United States. Now the show is seen in 139 cities/markets nationwide.

Entire cast and crew moved to Florida in 2004, just three weeks before Hurricanes Charley, Frances and Jeanne.

In 2005, anchorwoman Andrea Jackson was handed a box of tapes featuring potential newsreaders for the show. The only one that caught her interest was Kia Malone's video. Malone was quickly hired and stayed with the show through numerous format changes, both anchoring and co-anchoring "The Daily Buzz" until her departure in 2012.
