The Film Department is aiming for perfection, signing up for an English-language take on Italian romantic comedy "The Perfect Man."
Peter Chelsom will helm the feature about a love triangle in which one woman tries to break up the relationship between her close male and female friends by hiring a male model to come between them. The pic is based on Luca Lucini's 2005 Italian-language "L'Uomo Perfetto."
Denise Di Novi, who counts "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" and "Edward Scissorhands" among her many producing credits, is producing via her Di Novi Pictures banner. Colleen McGuinness, who is also writing the screenplay for Di Novi's "Not Our Class Dear," is penning the script.
In addition to Di Novi, Alison Greenspan, Mark Gill and Robert Katz are producing, while Neil Sacker and Michael Goguen are exec producing.
Chelsom helmed "Shall We Dance" and "Serendipity" and is directing Disney's big-screen version of "Hannah Montana. »

Well! Here I had my question already written to submit to Parade Magazine -- "I love Naomi Watts. Can you tell me what's coming up next for this talented actress?" -- and now I've stumbled across the answer myself. Thanks anyway, Walter Scott's Personality Parade!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Watts is in negotiations to star in My Name Is Jody Williams, a biopic about the anti-land-mine activist who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1997. Williams, a Vermont-born schoolteacher and aid worker, shared the Nobel with the group she worked for, the International Campaign to Ban Land Mines, whose efforts paid off in 1997 with the Ottawa Treaty, which has been signed by more than 150 countries pledging not to make or use anti-personnel land mines.
Williams is apparently a feisty character, famous for calling Pres. Bill Clinton a "weenie" for not signing the treaty (and surely not the only time »

Jennifer Lopez has signed on to star in the lead role of Nigel Cole’s upcoming romantic comedy “The Governess,” Variety reported earlier today.
Written by Kevin Wade and Wendy Braff, the film focuses on a professional thief who poses as a nanny to a rich widower’s kids in order to pull of a gigantic heist. She later faces a tough decision when she falls in love with the single father.
Yari Film Group will produce the project, which is expected to head into principal photography this fall.
Nigel Cole previously directed the delicious British hit comedy “Calendar Girls” and the disappointing Ashton Kutcher vehicle “A Lot Like Love.” He recently completed “Five Dollars a Day,” a comedy starring Amanda Peet and Christopher Walken.
Lopez was last seen alongside husband Marc Anthony in “El Cantante.” She’s currently gearing up for “Love and Other Impossible Pursuits,” an indie dramedy »
