Oscar-winning actress Susan Sarandon has signed on to guest-star in three episodes of FX's drama series Rescue Me. In the series, which stars Denis Leary and revolves around the lives of New York firefighters, Sarandon will portray Alicia, a rich, successful woman who becomes the latest flame of Franco (Daniel Sunjata). Her character seduces Franco by teaching him that an older woman is what he needs. Sarandon's three-episode stint will start with the second episode of Season 3, which is currently in production with an early-summer premiere date. Rescue Me was created by Leary and Peter Tolan, both of whom executive produce with Jim Serpico. The series is produced by Apostle, DreamWorks Television and the Cloudland Co. in association with Sony Pictures Television. Sarandon, who won a best actress Oscar for 1996's Dead Man Walking, recently appeared in the films Elizabethtown, Alfie and Shall We Dance. On the TV side, her recent credits include Sci Fi Channel's miniseries Children of Dune as well as guest appearances on NBC's Friends and Fox's The Simpsons. She's repped by ICM. »
