Must Watch: First Trailer for Crazy Live-Action 'Monster Trucks' Movie

2 June 2016 10:46 AM, PDT | firstshowing.net | See recent FirstShowing.net news »

"Aren't you curious about where it came from?" Paramount has unleashed the first fun trailer for the crazy live-action Monster Trucks movie, directed by Chris Wedge, who worked on Ice Age and Robots before making this leap into live-action. The concept is kind of a mash-up between Transformers and Cars, with "monster trucks" that come to life as monsters, which seem to look like sharks. The ensemble cast includes Lucas Till, Jane Levy, Holt McCallany, Barry Pepper, Tucker Albrizzi, Danny Glover, Amy Ryan, Rob Lowe, Frank Whaley, and Thomas Lennon. This looks surprisingly kind of awesome, I'm actually excited to check it out now. As wacky as it seems, there's an edge to it that makes it quite appealing. Here's the first official trailer for Chris Wedge's Monster Trucks, in high def from Apple: Looking for any way to get away from the life and town he was born into, »

First trailer for ‘Monster Trucks’… Literally!

1 June 2016 7:52 PM, PDT | Blogomatic3000 | See recent Blogomatic3000 news »

How’s this for taking a title to its literal extreme. Monster Trucks not only features monster trucks but also monsters powering trucks! Literally Monster Trucks!!

Directed by Chris Wedge, thr man behind the animated features Ice Age, Robots and Epic, Monster Trucks stars Lucas Till, Jane Levy, Barry Pepper, Amy Ryan, Rob Lowe, Danny Glover, Thomas Lennon and Holt McCallany. And to be fair, judging by this trailer I’ll actually be interested to see this oddity – which is released in the UK on February 3rd 2017.

Looking for any way to get away from the life and town he was born into, Tripp (Lucas Till), a high school senior, builds a Monster Truck from bits and pieces of scrapped cars. After an accident at a nearby oil-drilling site displaces a strange and subterranean creature with a taste and a talent for speed, Tripp may have just found the key »

Monster Trucks Trailer Has a Big Friendly Alien Under the Hood

1 June 2016 11:28 AM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Way back in February 2014, Paramount announced it was moving forward with their new adventure Monster Trucks, although very little was revealed about the movie. Even as the cast started to come together, including Lucas Till and Jane Levy, no plot details were released. Today we finally know what Monster Trucks is all about, with the studio releasing the first trailer. This monster of an adventure is not quite what you'd expect it to be.

Looking for any way to get away from the life and town he was born into, Tripp (Lucas Till), a high school senior, builds a Monster Truck from bits and pieces of scrapped cars. After an accident at a nearby oil-drilling site displaces a strange and subterranean creature with a taste and a talent for speed, Tripp may have just found the key to getting out of town and a most unlikely friend. The trailer, which debuted through YouTube earlier today, »

Monsters Plus Trucks Equals Monster Trucks Trailer

1 June 2016 10:28 AM, PDT | www.themoviebit.com | See recent TheMovieBit news »

With probably themes self explanatory movie title in recent memory, Monster Trucks sees Ice Age, Robots, and Epic director Chris Wedge make the jump to live-action with a family comedy that sees Lucas Till (X-Men: First Class) as a high school senior who finds the most unique engine for his hand built truck in the form of a subterranean monster with a taste and a talent for speed. As you can see from the trailer below, this is silly fun clearly aimed at kids, and no doubt they’ll get a real kick out of it. Released: January 13th 2017 »

From Flushed Away and Hunchback to Titan A.E. and Sky High - the family movies that don't get the love they deserve...

When I sit through a film such as Zootropolis, Rango, Frozen, Wreck-It Ralph, Eddie The Eagle or Coraline, I can’t help but be thankful somebody has bothered. As a parent as well as a movie lover, I’ve grown to really dislike family movies that just turn up to act as a surrogate babysitter for 90 minutes, with no intention of becoming anybody’s favourite film. The films I'm going to talk about are the family movies therefore that I think both try and do something a bit more, yet continue to fly under many people's radar.

A bonus mention before we get going, and number 26 in the list, much to my surprise: Alvin & The Chipmunks 4. I was expecting next to zero from it, courtesy »

2016 Tribeca Film Festival: ‘The Family Fang’ Review

Stars: Jason Bateman, Nicole Kidman, Kathryn Hahn, Christopher Walken, Marin Ireland, Harris Yulin, Eugenia Kuzmina, Michael Chernus, Josh Pais, Maryann Plunkett | Written by David Lindsay-Abaire | Directed by Jason Bateman

Performance artists. What good are they anyhow? It’s not like they put their lives on the line, or make a strong statement about anything going on in current events. It’s not like they tend to become wildly notorious for their acts, nor do they leave a mark on younger generations.

But the question is, what happens to their kids? That’s what The Family Fang sets out to solve…

The second directorial feature from Jason Bateman after 2013′s Bad Words, The Family Fang sees Bateman star as Baxter Fang, the brother of Annie Fang, played by Nicole Kidman. They are affectionately called “Child A” and “Child B” by their parents Caleb and Camille, played by the one and only »

‘Game of Thrones,’ ‘Revenant,’ ‘Star Wars’ Lead Mpse’s Golden Reel Nominations

26 January 2016 7:00 PM, PST | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Nominations for the Motion Picture Sound Editors’ 63rd annual Golden Reel Awards have been revealed, with “Mad Max: Fury Road,” “The Martian,” “The Revenant” and “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” leading the way on the film side with three nominations apiece. “Game of Thrones” came out on top in the TV categories with a trio of mentions as well.

Recognizing excellence in an array of sound editing achievement, from sound effects and foley to dialogue and Adr to music and score integration, the Mpse are the final industry group to announce nominees this year and remain the only group to do so after the annual Academy Award nominations announcement.

Oscar nominees for best sound editing this year were “Mad Max,” “The Martian,” “The Revenant,” “Sicario” (which also picked up a pair of Mpse noms) and “Star Wars.”

Speaking of “Star Wars,” Disney’s intellectual property was represented not just by J.J. Abrams’ box office-busting film, »
