A Note Regarding Spoilers

The following FAQ entries may contain spoilers. Only the biggest ones (if any) will be covered with spoiler tags. Spoiler tags have been used sparingly in order to make the page more readable.

For detailed information about the amounts and types of (a) sex and nudity, (b) violence and gore, (c) profanity, (d) alcohol, drugs, and smoking, and (e) frightening and intense scenes in this movie, consult the IMDb Parents Guide for this movie. The Parents Guide for Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy can be found here.

It's Spanish for "Saint Didacus", referring to Didacus of Alcalá (c.1400-63), a Franciscan saint from Spain.

In an interview on Fresh Air with Terry Gross, Terry talks with the filmmaker, and he says that he wanted the four men to learn a song with four-part harmony, and he chose 'Afternoon Delight'. There is also a deleted scene where Will Ferrell starts singing and has to stop, and he does not appear to be lip-synching.

Will there be a sequel?

Yes! On March 29th, 2012 Will Ferrell appeared as Ron Burgundy on Conan and announced that the sequel to Anchorman had finally received the green light. It will again be produced by Judd Apatow and will reunite the original cast.

The Unrated version features a cut that's approx. three and a half minutes longer than the theatrical version of this movie. Nearly all scenes are extended plot sequences that are of more or less value for the movie itself. Nothing really spectacular but a detailed comparison between both versions with pictures can be found here nevertheless.
