aside from the great buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin movies, i never really watched any silent films. i caught a showing of Sunrise during a film festival, and was extremely moved by the movie. the expression of emotion is so clear a potent it had me almost in tears (and i NEVER cry at movies). anyway, if you are really interested in a true film of emotion give it a go. don't be afraid of the silent aspect...it is not over acted...which is ad-normal for that time period. the film really attacks some interesting emotions for the time period also, including adultery and murder. has some great plot twists, and is very well produced. the music is not just a standard length track, it fits the film perfectly.
