Storyline

Ohio high school student Scott Thomas is a good student and nice guy - albeit a little predictable - who is about to graduate and go into pre-med. He is unceremoniously dumped by his whorish girlfriend Fiona on graduation day. Among the people he turns to in his hour of despair is his German pen pal, Mike. Scott and Mike seem to have a special connection. After Mike makes advances to Scott now that he and Fiona are not seeing each other, Scott abruptly sends Mike a message saying he never wants to hear from him again. However, Scott learns shorty thereafter that Mike is actually a beautiful girl named Mieke. By this time, Mieke has blocked his messages. Thinking that Mieke is actually who he was meant to be with, Scott, impulsively for a change, decides to go to Berlin to be with her. Along for the ride is Scott's best friend, the girl crazy Cooper Harris. They manage only to get a flight into London, and thus have to make their way from London to Berlin. Along the way in Paris, they ... Written by Huggo

Goofs

The word "zusammen" which Scott checks up in the dictionary doesn't even occur in the shot of the e-mail. Afterwards at the close-up of the word another version of the letter is shown. The translation he reads aloud skips three sentences of what is written. See more »

Crazy Credits

Alec would like to thank his parents for allowing him to watch alot of TV as a child. Also, his beautiful wife and child for all of their love and support, and for coming all the way to Prague to stay for the duration of production, and for having the courage of conviction to know that was a terrible idea and to get the hell out 4 weeks later. David would like to thank his parents despite the fact they still want him to go to medical school. Also, thanks to everyone who came and visited in Prague - the roommates, the comic art guys, the girlfriend, Lampoon folk. It was a crazy long flight, but the visits really helped. Everyone who didn't visit can go to hell. You know who you are. And to Al, Billy and Jim, who taught me how to write. Blame them. Jeff would like to thank his parents for buying all the Cleveland Indians merchandise and for insisting that he thank them in writing. And Alex for all the great music and everything else. He would also like to thank Ted Griffin for watching over his house while he was in Prague, and would now kindly thank him to stop crapping in it daily. The guys would like to thank every single person who worked on the film for helping us make the movie. Also Amici Mei, Casa Blue, Alcohol Bar, the chicken salad at Scandals, and the brownies at Praha Bakeshop. And that terrible 24-hour Czech Burrito place. Additional thanks to the Writers Guild and Directors Guild, for always being there for us. And a very special thanks to Sandy Grushow and Lloyd Braun, without whom none of this would have been possible. See more »

Fun Flick but not for the Family
14 March 2006 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Prior to watching this movie for the first time, my friends would not stop quoting this movie and telling me how great it was. Now that I've seen it I can see why they love it so much. I will admit that this film is extremely raunchy and even shows some images I didn't think were allowed in R-rated movies. Never-the-less the jokes are hilarious and the plot flows rather smoothly.

Some people probably hate this movie because of the way it portrays Europeans. To them I say LIGHTEN UP! It's a movie that's meant to be stereotypical. They stereotype with taste, however, using many of the common views and prejudices that the average American feels towards the inhabitants of the various countries.

All in all, the cast was well selected, the music was awesome, the situations were entertaining, and the locations were great. I highly suggest this movie to people that love to laugh an don't get easily offended.
