Bland and familiar

Don't expect to find anything fresh and exciting. Does the notion of 2 young men escaping from gang they betrayed seem fresh to you? How about the fact that one is attracted to the other? While the straight one seems unaware of that since he is drawn to a pretty girl?

About the only new touches for most American viewers would be the ethnicity: the two young men are Japanese and the girl in between is Korean. And the movie dialog is a mix of the two languages (not that most Americans could tell... or care).

The action is pretty clunky since the actors aren't particularly athletic. And that describes the script pretty well, too.

At least, it's an opportunity to see pretty Chae Joeng Ahn as the young woman -- but the blonde dye-job diminishes her looks. (Check her out in the Korean TV comedy/drama COFFEE PRINCE to see her at her most beautiful.)

Long pop songs and girls with long hair

Warning: Spoilers
I am saddened by the fact that 'Run 2 U' was made in 2003, which makes it a recent production. I have watched hundreds of films and this film definitely lacks character development and plot. It is a disjointed film made by an amateur director; this is his second film.

Here is a short summary of what you can expect from this film: Nonsensical scenes of a girl toying with her dyed hair, walking down dark alleys and looking aimlessly. These scenes are further fueled by pop songs playing in the background.

On the other hand, I highly recommend you to do yourself a favor and pick up South Korean masterpieces such as 3-Iron, A Bittersweet Life, Marathon, My Sassy Girl, Oldboy or The Bow.

Best Movie with a love triangle 2 ever be made
awol-163 March 2006
Warning: Spoilers
In Tokyo, Hiroshi is a club worker who wants to be a singer, and is composing songs nonstop. His best friend, Tsuyoshi, is a low-level yakuza member, who has fallen in love with Hiroshi. When Tsuyoshi betrays his yakuza family, and steals their money, the pair flees to Korea, hoping to avoid being caught.

And that's the basic plot right there. A lot people criticize this movie for what reason i don't know it's a very original movie and always keeps hooked on what's going on in the movie, so ignore all the other reviews who say this movie is bad, it's definitely different but that a good thing, so enjoy.

It's different!

This movie " Run2U " is different from other Korea/Japan co-productions in one aspect, that involves Japanese worst gan members Yakuza. It is really a love triangle story involves two young Japanese best friends, rather cutie looking young Japanese actors + oddly enough pretty average looking Korea gal who played hostess,I believe whoever producer might be could of done better job of selecting Korean actress, nevertheless reasonably well made movie. The actors play out their roles pretty well in this movie. Only thing I really did regret about this movie is,it does not contain enough action fighting scenes. Overall it was well made movie, and do recommended to anyone, particularly to those fans of Japan/Korean co-production movies like me. Enjoy! I know I did!!
