It's American Idol without the whole 'talent' thing.

'Are you Hot?' features some of the dumbest (and funniest) things I have ever seen on 'Reality' Television.

1) "Lorenzo Lamas' Flaw Finder", a glorified laser pointer that he uses to point out specific body parts outlining why a contestant is not Hot.

2) The expression on the contestants faces when he is picking them apart on national television.

3) Lorenzo (again) telling young contestants that "They will have a lot of sex appeal and will 'grow' into it when they get older".

4) The complete arbitrary-ness of the scores given by the judges. Each contestant is rated out of 10 for Face, Body and Sex Appeal with no guidelines for anything. So one person comes out, gets a 9.1. The next comes out and gets an 7.2 or an 8.6. HOW CAN THEY BE GIVING OUT TENTHS OF A POINT?? What is the difference between someone's body being a 8.2 or an 8.3?

5) Contestants receiving 5 or 6's for 'Face' (OUCH!)

6) Losing contestants crying back stage, telling the camera their dream is not over. Their dream of what? Being Hot? Is that really a life's work? huh?

7) Contestants being told "Sorry, you are not HOT enough to continue" after losing in the telephone poll.

8) Dividing up the USA into four 'Hot Zones'. As if they actually canvassed all those states to find the hotties.

If you watch this show, you will find that most of your time is spent laughing AT it. This is not the serious, scientific evaluation to find Americas hottest people that you expected.

Rating: 2/10. There actually are worse things on Television than this. Just not much.

The show is superficial.

I watch a couple episodes of the shows on TV. I did not like how judge the people looks not their minds. This to me sends the wrong message to the viewing audience especially to young viewers. Nobody is perfect in this world everybody has their imperfections. I admit I watch Miss America but at least the women are honor for community involvement.

just plain fun!

Grant it the show is a modeling competition, where only the most beautiful people compete, but it's also great fun for us normal looking people too. I for one love watching vain people get cut down to size. And as an added bonus there is always the diamond in the rough who is beautiful on the inside, giving viewers someone to cheer for.

are you hot?, are you stupid to like this mess.

It's hard to believe that lorenzo lamas who was so good on falcon crest and renegade is a host of this turgid mess about men and women who are hot and sexy and see who's better, the story is brainless, the contestants have no honesty whatsoever, the editing is pointless and the rest of a dreadful excuse to be sexy, this is a truly silly mess of a reality show, if you want to see a much better take, watch the defunct wami's 10's, now that's a much better show, much better than this truly, pointless, lousy piece of television history that makes all of the other shows look tame in my opinion, junk.

The most ratchet show I've ever seen
andreasa-5049714 March 2020
Let me just preface by pointing out that I only had the misfortune to find and view one episode of this godforsaken thing. But I highly doubt living through more than the one I did experience would give me anything more meaningful than a flu. The show is exactly what you expect, only with more #MeToo-ish judges than you might have imagined. People go on stage and you watch judges deem whether the person is hot or not, followed by a second round where those deemed hot are given numerical ratings for their face, body, respectively. It seems to be entirely arbitrary and based on the judges' personal tastes, as you might expect, and the whole thing leaves you feeling dirtier than had you taken a head-first dive into a vat of snot.

Heartily recommended.

At least it's self aware. This is pure trash but in the best possible way.
