  • The WWE's premier event of the year took place on March 30, 2003 from Safeco Field in Seattle, Washington. A Safeco Field record crowd of 54,097 fans witnessed a great card and live performances by Limp Bizkit and the Miller Lite Catfight Girls. In the opening match, WWE Cruiserweight Champion Matt Hardy defended his championship against Rey Mysterio, Jr.. That was followed by a handicap match featuring The Undertaker vs. The Big Show & A-Train. Next up was a Triple Threat Match for the Women's Championship with Victoria defending against Jazz and Trish Stratus. Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin defended their WWE Tag Team titles in another Triple Threat Match against Eddie Guerrero & Chavo Guerrero, Jr. and Chris Benoit & Rhyno. The best part of WrestleMania XIX was the final five matches, any of which could be a main event at any other Pay-Per-View. Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho squared off in a classic match which stole the show. The World Heavyweight Championship was at stake with Triple H defending against 5-time former WCW champion Booker T. A "Street Fight" was next between two of the wrestling business's all-time biggest icons - WWE Chairman Vince McMahon and the legendary Hulk Hogan. For the third (and most likely final) time at WrestleMania, two of wrestling's biggest stars - Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock - battled in what was probably Austin's last match. Finally, the main event was for the WWE Championship with former Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle defending the title against former NCAA wrestling champion Brock Lesnar.
