So what exactly is this? 'The Early 70's Horror Trailer' is a hard short movie to describe. As the title suggest this is the trailer for a non-existing movie. A colorful homage to horror/exploitation trailers of the 70's. Trailers of that kind you can find as extras on a DVD release from SWV. The idea sounds pretty outrageous, I know, but the resulted experimental short is surprisingly cool and fascinating to watch. While it is a "trailer" it still has some kind of a concluded story shown through various scenes of a woman running in panic. The dizzying footage is intercut with other scenes of death, blood, terror and ghostly characters. The dialog-less picture looks worn with scratches and jumps and is accompanied with a wild 70's like film score. The presented scenarios is actually well staged and shot. But the most incredible with the whole thing is still that it looks exactly like something made in the 70's with the fashion and locations! Only thing I disliked was the runtime of 9 minutes which is too long as the joke wears of after the first 4 or 5 minutes.
