When Clay gets out of the elevator at The Phoenix Foundation, you can see three portraits in the background, two are of Richard Dean Anderson (MacGyver) and Dana Elcar (Pete Thornton), from the original series. The plan was to get both actors for cameos later on, had the series been picked up.

For one thing, in Macgyver the original series he states
that he is an only child. So how is the world could he have a nephew??? I would hope that the people who want to put into production a Young Macgyver series would make it about Macgyver when he was younger and not a make believe Nephew he never had to begin with. I am sure that Richard Dean Anderson's memory of being one of the greatest TV icons known as Macgyver would never falter if a spin off was made. I hope and pray that A spin off of Macgyver is never made because they would be embarrassing themselves. If anything don't ruin a great show by making a spin off. I hope that in the near future everyone learns to appreciate great quality TV instead of getting into stupid shows like the bachelor and the bachelorette. These shows are demoralizing to the people who are in them and suck, but that is another matter completely.
