The literal translation of the title of this movie is: The forever friendship.
This movie is a purely political propaganda and truth was distorted in the following way:
The Red Army was poorly disciplined and just like what they had done in eastern Europe, looting, raping and robbing was rampant among Red Army soldiers, but things are much worse in China in comparison to Europe because most of the Soviet conscripts deployed in China were ex-convicts who served in the military in exchange for amnesty. This is what the movie dared not to mention. Not saying that what depicted in the movie never happened, but such occasional good deed is certainly not representative for the Red Army.
To add the final insult, this movie is made in the year of Sino-Soviet ideological split, and soon after this movie was made, the two became bitter enemies and this movie was banned in China.
