Here is a story of a tramp which is at once pathetic and humorous. For the sake of a child who befriended him he journeys twice a long distance to get the money some sharpers have virtually stolen from her father. And then, upon returning it, he fails to remain and take part in the rejoicing. The most interesting portion of the film is the delineation of the tramp character. It is perfect in so far as it tells what a tramp does and how the call of the road is the strongest influence in his life. The action is good, while the photography is clear and the situations shown are some of them thrilling. The audience plainly testified its pleasure. - The Moving Picture World, May 13, 1911
