Following a Dog Act
boblipton13 January 2017
Jack Cooper has arrived in town, ready to poison every loud dog in the city. Only Brownie the Wonder Dog -- with some help from bellhop Buddy Messinger -- stands in his way in this Century Comedy.

Century Comedies featured animals and small children -- Baby Peggy got her start there, assisting Brownie. Although I have little patience with the formula outside Roach's Our Gang, this one is a charmer, due to the talents of Brownie, the most charming dog in the movies after Pete the Pup. He also has a wide variety of tricks, including a facility for tying and untying knots I have never seen another dog perform.

It's the first time I have seen Brownie, and I hope to see others. Apparently he died young, so they had to promote Baby Peggy to star of the series.
