In the overhead shot of the Bakers first arriving at the house in Evanston, Tom has his arm around Kate's shoulders and Kate's arm is across Tom's back. In the next shot, both Kate's and Tom's arms are at their sides.
When Sarah grabs a handful of meat from the kitchen she is wearing a purple shirt, a moment later when Jake also grabs some meat he is wearing a red shirt. Both Sarah and Jake are wearing different shirts in the basement when the kids are soaking the underwear.
When Dylan is taken to the hospital after the birthday incident, he has a black eye and a broken arm. When Kate asks his parents if they have seen Mark after he ran away, there is no trace of the black eye or the broken arm. Broken arms usually take a couple of months to heal in a cast.
When Kate returns home, Lorraine and the younger sisters goes out to greet her. Lorraine tells Kate about Charlie, she is wearing a beige outer clothing with her left hand clutching it. When they enter the house in the next shot, she is wearing pink.
After the kids are grounded, there is an overhead shot of Mark laying in bed. In this shot Mark's glasses are nowhere to be seen, but when he rolls over and looks at the photo of him and Kate, his glasses are in front of the photo.
When Dylan gets up after the chandelier crash, his parents begin to take off his helmet and safety pads; however, he is clearly rolled out the door still on skates and has an elbow pad on his right arm. In the next shot, we see the Shenks walking down the street, and neither the skates nor the pad are anywhere to be seen.
Before the kids get into a fight at school, Mike knocks down one of the bully's lattes. The drink falls to the ground. In the next shot, Mike takes the bully down to the dirt and the latte isn't on the ground any more.
The first time the team meets Tom's kids, there are 2 different players wearing #62 and both are black. Moments later, when the team is outside practicing, you again see a player wearing #62 but now it's a white guy.
When the family runs out of the house to go and look for Mark, Jake (riding his skateboard) is first out the door and rides down the path leading to the front gate ahead of everyone else. In the next shot, Jake is not the first to go out the gate, he is further back behind several others.
When Kate tells Kyle and Nigel they have a dentist appointment during the breakfast scene, the twins start making strange sounds at Tom. While they are doing this, Charlie moves from the stove to the bench behind the twins. When it cuts to a close-up of Kyle and Nigel, Charlie has instantly vanished, and is back standing at the stove next to Tom.
When Mark and Tom get off the train, Mark is wearing his hat. When the rest of the family come around the corner, he is not wearing his hat. We see it fall halfway out the pocket of his coat when he hugs Kate, but it seems he did not have enough time to take it off and put it in the pocket of his coat, especially given the fact he was using both hands to carry the box with his belongings inside.
When Kate opens the email from Nora at the start of the film, the bit that says "Love, Nora" is on the second line of the sentence. Later, when Kate gives the printed out email to Tom, "Love, Nora" is now on two separate lines below the rest of the sentence.
When Tom enters Charlie's bedroom to scold him for missing curfew the previous night, Charlie's bare feet are exposed outside the bedding. After a 4 second shot of Tom, the camera cuts back to Charlie, who is now completely covered, the bedding noticeably neater.
When Kate reaches to hug and pick up Mark at the train station, her sunglasses fall off the top of her head to the back of her head. The camera cuts to a different angle, and her sunglasses have returned to the top of her head.
When Mark runs into Tom as Mark is rushing to get water for his frog, Mark spills water all over Tom's pants; however, in the next shot, when Tom walks upstairs to talk to Nora, his pants are completely dry.
When Tom and Dylan are hanging from the chandelier, there is a shot of the top of the chandelier breaking from the ceiling, then there is a cut to Tom. If you watch this in slow-motion, a crewman holding a boom microphone is visible on the floor below.
(at around 1h 04 mins) The gas bottle next to the bouncy castle in knocked over. At the base can be seen a very odd piece of grass which is obviously only there to hide part of the rigging for the stunt - a hinge mechanism.
One may question how Mark was able to board the Amtrak train without meeting the age requirement to have purchased a ticket. It is a common practice of Amtrak conductors to make their rounds taking tickets several minutes after the train has left the station, so he could have boarded and found a seat with no question.
For some reason Sarah and Henry are never shown going to school when the family moves to Chicago, even though there are scenes with the twins, Jake, Mark, and Mike going to the elementary school/junior high, and Charlie and Lorraine going to high school.
