Erotic horror almost a winner
lor_2 October 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I had to obtain a German DVD release of this obscure Wicked Pictures film (in order to see my fave Dee in action) and despite some clumsy O. Henry twists by writer Richard Reed and director Andre Richard it was entertaining.

It's a venture into the E.C. Comics mode, popularized in cinema decades ago by George A. Romero's "Creepshow" features. Richard, who did most of the creative work behind the camera, evidently likes this material, but his attempt to put it into an XXX context makes some serious mistakes.

The six tales of "eerie erotica" vary in quality but have interesting story hooks, let down by groaner conclusions. Best is "Voodoo You Love" starring Dee as a voodoo lady doing her supernatural thing to help out traveler Herschel Savage, whose busty wife Davia is injured in a car accident. Dee tells him "Don't ever take off the ribbon" after she brings Davia back to consciousness with a red ribbon tied around her neck after a ritualistic ceremony that includes bondage action after she services Herschel.

Savage wakes up in "only a dream" mode to make love to beautiful Davia, and in the next segment "one year later" forgets Dee's admonition and pulls off wife's ribbon, only to have her head roll off (not shown, as director Richard leaves all gore and ultra-violence off-screen, typical hardcore porn self-censorship of explicit violence). This is not technically a spoiler, as most of Reed's trick endings are blatantly telegraphed beforehand.

Katie Gold stars in a two-parter as a young blonde hitchhiker whose presence means trouble. Her first victim in "Goin' My Way?" is Ian Daniels, whose chivalrous ride back to her place results in jail-bait sex but rather cryptic just desserts.

Gold reappears hitching in a vignette featuring luscious Johnni Black having her chauffeur (Daniel Fields in NonSex role) pick up Katie, leading to Sapphic sex in the back seat.

Four youngsters are making out in a convertible in "Hooked on Classics", a period piece with a particularly lousy ending. Gina Ryder and Blondie lend ample pulchritude to this 2-part episode.

IMDb pegs Richard as a Canadian actor/filmmaker, and this attempt at explicit erotica is an odd example of a patchy career.
