Shah Rukh and Farah - Friends No More

22 December 2009 11:09 PM, PST | Bollyspice | See recent Bollyspice news »

They have a saying in Bollywood, 'What goes around comes back'. The best example in this case would be Farah Khan. Poor Farah couldn’t have imagined that choosing Akshay Kumar over Shah Rukh Khan for his upcoming movie Tees Maar Kha would widen the ridge between her and good friend Shah Rukh Khan.

Farah shot to an unmatched height with the success of Main Hoon Na starring Srk and then repeated the same magic with Srk's Om Shanti Om. During the promotional event or on talk shows, both of them couldn't stop raving about their friendship which apparently is going to hit a rough phase.

It is noted that Shirish (Farah's husband) had announced three projects with Farah – Allen Sahib, Joker and Tees Maark Kha. After Akshay was roped in for Tees Maark Kha, Srk decided to turn down Joker, the script of which is believed to be written »

It's the Karan Johar effect

23 November 2009 12:48 PM, PST | Filmicafe | See recent Filmicafe news »

We women have known it for a few seasons, but the movie men seem to have just caught up. Not some universal truth silly, just that sleeveless cardis are the only way we can accessorise Mumbai's winter. V neck sweaters, not unlike the ones cricketers wear, look great over crisp shirts with rolled up sleeves and flat fronts or jeans. It's the Karan Johar effect, we suspect. He favours them in his personal wardrobe and the influence can be seen on Srk in Main Hoon Na. It must be the hint of Himalayan school-boy meets earnest man that appeals to us. And if you wear glasses with that, well then we can't be responsible for our behaviour. Here's a look at some who get it right, and some who shouldn't even try?In every shot of the promos of Alladin and every event related to it, Ritesh Deshmukh wears vests »

Farah Khan does it again?

25 August 2009 1:33 PM, PDT | Filmicafe | See recent Filmicafe news »

Farah Khan has rubbed veteran actor Manoj Kumar the wrong way again. After a raging controversy, which triggered off when she showcased Manoj Kumar in a poor light in Om Shanti Om, a few weeks ago, Farah made a statement in the media that she rated Manoj Kumar.s film, Clerk as .a treasure chest of ham scenes..Reacting angrily to Farah.s statement, Manoj Kumar said, .Ham means pig. I am still a student of cinema. Farah is bubbly and successful and she is entitled to her opinion. I wish her well but those who think that they have become masters (after becoming successful) are wrong. Go back and take a look at the choreographers who ruled the roost in my era. I think Farah should first learn to spell choreography. Keeping the same background and repeating the same shots is not choreography. It means that a »

Will Life Partner help Amrita Rao break her image? - News

28 July 2009 12:05 AM, PDT | GlamSham | See recent GlamSham news »

Hardly a handful of films old, Amrita Rao already has two superhits, Main Hoon Na, Vivaah and three hits, Ishq Vishk, Masti and Welcome To Sajjanpur listed in her resume. Most of the roles that she essayed were performance oriented ones, in which the producers used her girl next door, innocent and demure looks and thus she sort of got caught up in that image. However, it appears that Amrita, like all actresses, wants to prove her versatility, and so is trying her level best to »

Reasons why this year's Iifa Awards at Macau were a roaring success

Click above for more stills It's the mother of all events and this year's Iifa at Macau, China lived up to its reputation of being the best in the business. Come to think of it, handling so many stars and celebrities [and their elephantine egos] is next to impossible. But I'd salute Andre Timmins, Sabbas Joseph and Viraf Sarkari along with the Wizcraft team for pulling off a spectacular event without a glitch. Let me begin with what made Iifa 2009 a success. The showcasing of three films [Jail, Do Knot Disturb and Shortkut] gave one ample opportunity to learn about these films. The star attendance was excellent, with the names associated with the movies being present on the dais for a tete-a-tete. The fashion show was equally spectacular, but long drawn. The designers who stole the limelight were Manav Gangwani and Anamika Khanna, with their dazzling creations. The Zaia show was a visual treat. For a change, the Bollywood brigade »

The music of Farah Khan's directorial debut venture featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Main Hoon Na, is still quite popular. Almost all the tracks including the techno-'qawwali' and the title track still feature regularly at functions. However for her next, Om Shanti Om, Farah Khan dropped the Main Hoon Na composer Anu Malik and opted for the more up-market duo Vishal-Shekhar and the 'Dard-e-Disco' fever continues unabated! Wishing Amrita Rao a very happy Birthday

6 June 2009 10:03 AM, PDT | BollywoodHungama | See recent BollywoodHungama news »

Once a poet said that 'If the world was ever enveloped by darkness, I will simply tell an innocent girl to smile, for her mere smile is enough to fully illuminate the world!' We are very sure of the fact that the poet surely must have had Birthday-girl Amrita Rao (7th June’ 2009) in mind, whilst coming up with these golden words. Amrita, for starters, is what one would like to call as the apt fitting synonym to the words 'innocence' and 'purity'. Having made her debut in a forgettable flick called Ab Ke Baras, Amrita has indeed come a long way with an array of hits tucked under her belt, courtesy her superlative acting in films like Main Hoon Na, Welcome To Sajjanpur, My Name Is Anthony Gonsalves, Vivaah, Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi, Masti, Ishq Vishk, Victory etc… The success meter of her acting skills lies in the »
