A cricket bat signed by 32 Indian film legends such as Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra is to go under the hammer on Friday 29 November at the Westbury Gallery, Westbury Hotel, Mayfair. The bat has been donated by BBC Asian Network presenter Tommy Sandhu, with all the proceeds from the sale going to the charity, Children in Need.
The auction – organised by Conferro Auctions – features Vintage Bollywood Memorabilia such as original LPs, film banners and Bollywood posters from some of the milestones of Indian film history, including Mughal-e-Azam (1960) and Sholay (1975), which were recently voted the top two greatest Bollywood films of all time.
Children in Need provides grants to projects in the UK which help children and young people who are disadvantaged. They aim to empower and extend their life choices to make a real difference to the lives of children all across the UK.

New Delhi, Oct 20: He has proved his versatility as a singer, but Sonu Nigam says there are no goals in musical career as one can go as high as one wants.
With a long list of hit songs, including "Sandese aate hain", "Abhi mujh main kahin", "Aal izz well" and "Zoobi doobi", the 39-year-old believes that after a point singing is not about fame, but achieving milestones.
"There is no end to music, you can keep exploring, and there is never an end to it. After a point you don't work for money or fame, you work for milestones. Like 'Kal ho naa ho', 'Main hoon na' have become the biggest milestones," Sonu told Ians.

New Delhi, Oct 9: Shah Rukh Khan is a successful actor and an astute businessman. Now the superstar is eyeing good content and wants to buy the copyright to enhance his library, which already has a collection of 18 films.
"Shah Rukh Khan is looking to acquire good content which will include his TV shows and his films. But not necessarily all his work. The decision is made by Red Chillies," said a source close to the actor.
"He already has a library of 18 movies. He has the copyrights of those movies," added the source.

Mumbai, Aug 17: Actress Amrita Rao is satisfied that she has got the chance to work under some big banner films without having any "filmy" backgorund.

Mumbai, Feb 25: Prakash Jha has roped in Amrita Rao for "Satyagraha" and the actress is extremely joyous as most of her scenes are with none other than Amitabh Bachchan, whose role in the film is reportedly modelled on activist Anna Hazare.
"We are shooting in Bhopal and I am feeling so blessed that all my scenes in 'Satyagraha' are with Amitabh Bachchan. In fact, I can say 99 percent of my scenes are with him. It's like a dream come true for me," Amrita told Ians.

Quietly, Abhishek Bachchan has slithered forward to a place under the sun. Rohit Shetty's Bol Bachchan got the underrated actor a renewed box-office endorsement.
