the unhealthy competition between abs-cbn and gma (reminiscent of the leno-letterman network battle) might have started with 'eat bulaga' having forced to move from abs to another network simply because their parent network did not extend the working relationship privileges of the said tv show. thus, the mud-slinging and word battles have ignited the now infamous 'network war' between gma and abs-cbn.the noontime show 'magandang tanghali bayan' and its spin-off 'masayang tanghali bayan' is the second desperate effort of abs-cbn to contend with the 20-year noontime champion. the first one was 'sang linggo napo sila' which lived up to a few years but failed miserably. the hosts of of mtb have tried all kinds of tricks, both dirty and otherwise, and have sunken to the lowest pits of entertainment hell to win viewers. even mtb hosts randy, john, and willie have been suspended for being a little too malicious for daytime television, and their fans watched as they cried on tv for forgiveness. eat bulaga, on the other hand have had their share of wins and losses but regains noontime popularity with no effort.the 'mtb' story will be tragic just like its noontime show predecessor: their tasteless jokes and antics will pile up and eventually explode in their faces. the show has had their achievements in winning noontime show viewers and the efforts of the makers and hosts of mtb been very extensive. however, their recent attempts to triumph against their almighty enemy have been ineffective. this proves the fact that no noontime show will ever win against 'eat bulaga' as long as it is on the air.
