I'd never heard of this before I saw it on cable tonight. It is a charming comedy of manners and diversity coming together for the happy ending. If you want a light laugh and to feel good, watch it. It comes in the tradition of Aussie comedy but at the more meaningful end. The victory of a diverse community first uniting to indoctrinate newcomers and then uniting to meet a dream is at turns deep and at others, just a damn good laugh. Jason Donovan is superb as the central cast member, Helen Dallimore is suburban sexy and a great "sensible" character. Gary Day as the crazy neighbour is fantastic. I am pretty sure I first saw him in a kiwi TV show called "Gloss" although he's not credited with that in IMDb. He's fun, slightly villainous, and should be getting a lot more screen time!
