Trivia

In this movie, SpongeBob's voice is changed to a higher pitch versus SpongeBob SquarePants (1999) for unknown reason, possibly Tom Kenny's aging or the creators' whim. See more »

Goofs

When they are in the Shell City, smoke from the outlet causes the water sprinklers to spray the store. In real life the water sprinklers in the ceiling detect heat, not smoke. Furthermore, only the sprinklers that got hot enough to fuse their elements will permit water flow, not the entire sprinkler system. See more »

SpongeBob SquarePants: [shocked] What?
Mr. Eugene H. Krabs: You... did not... get... the job!
SpongeBob SquarePants: [sadly] But... but why?
Mr. Eugene H. Krabs: Ah, SpongeBob. You're a great frycook, but I gave the job to Squidward because being manager is a big responsibility. Well, let's face it. He's more... mature than you.
SpongeBob SquarePants: I'm not... mature?
Mr. Eugene H. Krabs: Ah, lad. I mean this in the nicest of ways. But there's a word for what you are, and that word is... now, let's see...

It's SpongeBob, 'nuff said
28 February 2005 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

I didn't quite know what to expect when I walked into the theater to watch the movie of one of my favorite cartoons. Nickelodeon has a really nasty habit of "big-budgtizing" movies of their shows (changing the look, etc.). However this is not the case with SpongeBob. Whew, one less thing to worry about.

Next was the story. Could Steve Hillenburg live up to what had been laid down by the series? Yes. Basically it's like watching a 1 1/2 hour episode of SpongeBob (and who couldn't like that). Lot's of visual gags and typical Sponge brainless-ness. I was quite impressed.

If you're a SpongeBob fan, you'll love this movie. If you're not, eh, watch it anyways, it'll do you good ;-).
