Lastikman is one of my childhood comic book heroes, and it's great that the country's version of Marvel's Reed Richards (Fantastic Four's Mr. Fantastic) was brought back to the big screen. The original movie was made 44 years ago, and I have not seen that movie (poor me!).

Well, some scenes remind you of Spider-Man (Lastikman slinging in the building and those "Your Friendly Kapitbahay (Neighbor) lines), and of course Stryker's method of transportation is so close to The Green Goblin's.

Vic Sotto fits as the bony Hilario who was transformed into an elastic man after a meteor hit a rubber tree. Jeffrey Quezon gives his best as the nerdy student of Hilario who, after assuming that Lastikman caused him and his family's misfortunes, developed an equipment that he used in destroying the metropolis.

The movie is entertaining, specially to children. The only problem is that the fight scenes were so short, and not so convincing. But still, we want more! Lastikman 2003! Puwedi!
