It Was a Great Show
25 July 2014 | by See all my reviews

The American Sportsman was a Sunday afternoon classic that brought love of the outdoors right into the living room. Curt Gowdy had a great way of hooking your interest whether it was fishing for marlin or hunting white tail deer. I always looked forward to Sunday afternoons, and was disappointed when I was busy with other activities and missed the show. It's too bad that because of our modern day politically correct culture, our youth are missing out of the joys of hunting and fishing. The American Sportsman was brought back for a few years ending in 2006, but it's hard to find someone with the personal touches that Gowdy was famous for.
