When your roommate dies from an allergic reaction to fruit and the rent is due and you don't have the cash to cover it, there's no time to mess around picking a new roommate. So it goes that our hero in this short comes to share his home with a ninja. Written by Anonymous
This is a very simple idea for a movie, yet it made me laugh throughout this short film. A guy's roommate dies in a freak grapefruit accident (which, apparently, are one of the more dangerous fruits), so he's in need of someone else to help him share the rent. Out of the blue, a ninja shows up and things seem to be working out well--so this guy is telling his friend. According to him, the ninja is very, very quiet, neat and never causes any trouble (except, of course, when he's battling his nemesis, the red ninja). All this is totally ridiculous and made me laugh. Fortunately, it also ended well--with a cute final scene that makes the film well worth watching.
Simple, stupid and funny--this is a film worth seeing.
This film is included on a DVD entitled "Shorts: Volume Three". Oddly, I have seen volume One already and Three is definitely much better--though both are worth finding for lovers of short films like myself.
