Tom Felton Interview Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows – Part 1; Plus an Update on Rise Of The Apes

22 November 2010 10:31 AM, PST | | See recent news »

As most of you know, a little over a week ago I got to fly across the pond, as I was invited to the big press junket for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 in London.  While I’ve already posted my interviews with Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, producers David Heyman and David Barron, and director David Yates, I’ve got one more and it’s with Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy).

While Felton doesn’t have a lot of screen time in Part 1 of The Deathly Hallows, he was still a great interview, as he talked about his feelings on the series ending, what it was like to see the movie the night before, and he told us some great behind the scenes stories. In addition, Felton has a part in 20th Century Fox’s Rise of the Ripes, and he talked to us about who he plays, »

Grey's Anatomy "Message of Hope" Webisode Series: Part V

12 November 2010 10:42 AM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

Below is the fifth installment of Grey's Anatomy's webisode series, "Seattle Grace: Message of Hope." The web-only shorts have been airing Thursday nights following the show.

They're not the funniest thing ever, but it's neat to see the cast, especially Richard in this case, in a lighter setting. The Chief gets pretty riled up here. What a ridiculous man.

The long and short of it? The "sizzle reel" is a flop. Clearly. Check out Grey's Anatomy promos for next week's episode (actual TV episode) if you missed them, then see below:

Jon Stewart's Rally to Restore Sanity: 5 moments

30 October 2010 4:03 PM, PDT | Pop2it | See recent Pop2it news »

Tens of thousands crowded the National Mall in Washington, DC on a sunny Saturday (Oct. 30) to participate in Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert's Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear.

The Comedy Central pundits held the rally to encourage reasonable political thinking and voter participation in the upcoming Nov. 2 midterm elections. The response was overwhelming. Fans gathered from across the country, carrying signs that reflected the cheekiness of the host/organizers. Signs read "This is a good sign," "Don't hate me because I'm rational" and "Somewhat irritated about extreme outrage."

The rally included a slew of celebrities either making cameos or performing. Here are a few random moments from the rally.

1. Sing it

Although the musical performers ranged from Sheryl Crow and John Legend to Tony Bennett and Ozzy Osbourne, the big surprise was a comical song from Colbert and Stewart that include lines like "From gay men who »

Private Practice Review: "Playing God"

8 October 2010 7:11 AM, PDT | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

The worlds of Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice often run parallel, and not just when specific stories and characters cross over like Amelia did last night. Both deal with impossibly complex situations and their impact on the fragile psyches of even the most gifted surgeons.

Case in point: Sam coming face to face with the drunk driver who hurt Mia and killed Dell.

Acting not as a rational doctor but as a rightfully angry father and a friend, Sam chokes the heck out of him before he can even finish his apology (his reason for coming).

The man goes into cardiac arrest. Considering the circumstances, Sam is unmoved.

This incident not only showcased Taye Diggs' underrated acting chops, it served as a springboard for a flashback to Sam's first solo heart surgery way back in the day.

Jennifer Aniston, 'Glee's' Lea Michele on 2010's Best Dressed

15 September 2010 3:43 PM, PDT | Pop2it | See recent Pop2it news »

People magazine has determined their best dressed, and there are some familiar faces among them.

"The Switch" star Jennifer Aniston leads the pack. The celeb mag has dubbed her "The American Classic."

It appears that she likes to keep things simple -- figure-hugging short dresses in neutrals that show off her body and her flat-ironed locks.

In contrast, "Glee" star Lea "The It Girl" Michele is not afraid of color, frills, making a statement or experimenting with different 'dos on the red carpet.

The long and short of it is that she likes her gowns both long and short -- she likes them all.

Also making the cut are Rihanna ("The Daring Diva"), Jessica Alba ("The Mix Master"), Zoe Saldana ("The Red Carpet Queen"), Gwen Stefani ("The Rocker Mom"), Kate Middleton ("The Princess in Waiting"), Rachel Bilson ("The Denim Darling"), Olivia Palermo ("The Uptown Girl") and Diane Kruger ("The Runaway »

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

In this first part of the Trilogy, the young hobbit Frodo Baggins inherits a ring; but this ring is no mere trinket.

Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami Review: "Sisterly Love"

19 July 2010 6:26 AM, PDT | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

Last night's episode of Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami should come with a disclaimer: There is no Khloe. Instead she was replaced by more famous middle sister Kim Kardashian.

Basically, this is Keeping Up With the Kardashians now.

Kim's first act last night, besides slathering on more makeup than we've ever see on a human being, was to walk in on Kourtney and Scott railing on the balcony. Staged or not?

Probably, although you never know. Given who we're talking about, there's no reason to think they wouldn't stage it, or would care if she walked in for real. We may never know.

Kourtney and Kim took Miami this week. Khloe had the week off.

The flashbacks of Kourtney and Kim were cute, but after that, the episode pretty much sucked. Kim’s really famous and attracts press. The Dash employees are idiots. So it goes.

How do these idiots have jobs? »

‘Paranormal Activity 2′ – teaser trailer review

Paranormal Activity 2- Teaser Trailer

Directed by: Tod WIlliams

Starring: Tbd

Rating: Nr

Release Date: October 22, 2010

Trailer Score: 5/10

My Thoughts: There’s already some controversy surrounding this one. The long and short of it is evidently some folks complained that the trailer was too scary after seeing at it at a midnight screening of Eclipse. I figured why the hell not check it out? I wasn’t a huge fan of the first one, which felt tedious beyond my wildest dreams until the cop out of an ending so I can’t say I was too happy that a franchise was born out of it. Nevertheless, for a teaser trailer, I’ve seen worse. I’m not losing sleep over what I saw or anything, but the teen fans of Twilight I could see how it would be a bit much. I know that it’s only a teaser and all, »

HeyUGuys at Cannes 2010: You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger Review

16 May 2010 2:01 PM, PDT | | See recent HeyUGuys news »

First off, I feel I must comment on the way festival staff (specifically the ushers/security team) dealt with the queuing members of the media before the screening.

My enjoyment of Woody Allen’s latest was almost spoiled initially by the debacle created by another chaotic queuing process that almost spilled over into something ugly on Saturday morning on the Croisette. With the screening almost immediately following the earlier Another Year showing in the same cinema (a logistical nightmare even on paper), hundreds, maybe even thousands of critics spewed out into the queuing area to find a security team woefully underprepared, and no sign of where they were supposed to queue to get into the next film. The result of which, combined with a few too many hot-heads and over-excited hacks fearing they would miss out on the opportunity to see Allen’s magic on screen, was a media scrum, »

Lotr: The Preciousss Is On Blu-Ray, But Why Are Fans Unhappy?

7 April 2010 4:00 PM, PDT | ScifiMafia | See recent ScifiMafia news »

Peter Jackson’s epic fantasy masterpiece of the J. R. R. Tolkien classic, “The Lord of the Rings” is finally on BluRay and from many reports, it looks bloody amazing. Heck it looks bloody amazing already from the trailer for this Blu-Ray box set (see trailer below)! Not only is it immediately apparent how much work was put into the conversion to BluRay high definition quality, but it sounds like the world of Middle Earth is suddenly more real than ever. The added depth and detail lends a richness to every dimension an already visually-stunning trilogy of films.

While all this is fantastic, there’s a fly in this soup – die-hard fans of the trilogy are not so thrilled. Why? This release contains the three theatrical releases of the “Fellowship of the Ring”, “Two Towers”, and “Return of the King” along with the same special features that came with those DVD sets. »

Planet of the Apes Reboot aka Caesar is Back On

26 January 2010 8:49 AM, PST | Beyond Hollywood | See recent Beyond Hollywood news »

So, NYMag has a long and insider-strewn article about how Fox’s “Planet of the Apes” reboot (also known as “Caesar”) was believed dead, then resurrected, and is now a go-project over at Fox under an all-new direction. It’s all very detailed and those of you into Hollywood insider stuff will love it. The long and short of it is that the rebooot is once again a red hot property over at Fox, with the studio eager to get the movie into production with a director expected to be hired very soon. This, despite the fact that Scott Frank, who has been developing the movie for a while now, has walked. That, as it turns out, wasn’t such a bad thing for the reboot, as it only means new producer Peter Chernin has been handed the reigns, and Chernin apparently really, really wants to reboot the franchise. But »
