Storyline

At one time, Jack Armstrong was wealthy, but riotous living had left him almost penniless. He is in love with Daphne, a frivolous woman who appreciates a man for what he can give her, but to him she does not appear in this role. With his fortune gone, Jack writes her a note telling of his loss and also of his love, asking if her love for him is great and big enough to help him start over again. True to her nature when Daphne discovers his change in fortune, she transfers her affections to Burton Musgrove, who has made quite a lot of money on the stock market. Daphne and Burton come to the party which Jack is giving and arrive just in time to see Jack talking to Violet, "the mouse," an orphan girl whom he is educating. When later he attempts to explain about her, his friends only scoff at his story. Daphne gives Jack her answer, she is to marry Burton Musgrove. Jack now feels that life is no longer worth living. Violet, whom he regards as a child, is in reality a woman and loves Jack. ... Written by Moving Picture World synopsis
