U.S. trailer for Warlords, starring Jet Li

24 December 2009 7:48 PM, PST | GordonandtheWhale | See recent GordonandtheWhale news »

Back in 2005, Jet Li starred in an independent martial arts film called Unleashed (but if you live in the UK, you get the better, more fitting title, Danny The Dog). He showed the world a swift roundhouse kick to the face wasn’t the only thing he could do in a movie. This man can act. Then in 2006, his movie Fearless was billed as his “last martial arts film.” I thought, “This is Jet Li – I don’t want to watch him romance a woman or take a road trip with his old pals to reconnect and find out what the meaning of life is. I want to watch this guy beat the hell out of people.”

Ninja: Review

22 December 2009 5:06 PM, PST | 24framespersecond.net | See recent 24FramesPerSecond news »

Director: Isaac Florentine. Review: Tim Irwin. It’s hard to believe that two movies with the word Ninja in the title came out in the same year, and were both made in the same country. Indeed, while Ninja Assassin [reviewed here] went over the top with CGI blood and absurd violence, Ninja feels a little more credible in terms of story and characters. Granted, its primary ninja looks more like a cyborg assassin or Batman than a martial arts expert, but don’t let that detract from the experience. Scott Adkins stars as Casey Bowman, an American who has grown up in a dojo his whole life. I wasn’t familiar with Adkins either, but a quick glance at his filmography turns up small parts in blockbusters like X-Men Origins: Wolverine, The Bourne Ultimatum, and the lesser-known Unleashed (starring Jet Li). Casey has spent his life studying martial arts, and as time »

Yes Man (Peyton Reed, 2008)

10am, 8pm, Sky Movies Premiere

Remember Jim Carrey in Liar, Liar, where he forces himself to tell the truth for 24 hours? Well, here Jim Carrey forces himself to answer yes to any request, for a year. Which is upping the ante somewhat, but doesn't make it a better film. This is a return to the manic, gurning, not-very-funny Carrey, as if The Truman Show, Eternal Sunshine etc hadn't happened. Just say no.

The Golden Compass (Chris Weitz, 2007)

New action-stuffed trailer for Clash Of The Titans

17 December 2009 10:10 AM, PST | GordonandtheWhale | See recent GordonandtheWhale news »

The first teaser trailer for The Clash Of The Titans remake clocked in at about a minute and was full of cool-looking action. A second, longer trailer has come out for Louis Leterrier’s (Danny The Dog/Unleashed, The Incredible Hulk) Clash Of The Titans and, like the teaser, it is (thankfully) all about the action. It is starting to look like Leterrier, who has proven he is a competent man when it comes to the violent stuff, may have topped himself with his latest film.

More story in new Clash Of The Titans trailer

13 December 2009 9:24 AM, PST | QuietEarth.us | See recent QuietEarth news »

A high quality version of the second trailer for Louis Leterrier's (Unleashed, Transporter 2) remake of Clash of the Titans has leaked online and thanks to firstshowing we've got it for you here.

While the first trailer was high on the action montage and riff-rock, it was certainly low on story. This trailer definitely makes the film feel more like a classic fantasy tale.

Synopsis:

A remake of the 1981 film version of the myth of Perseus and his quest to battle both Medusa and the Kraken monster in order to save the Princess Andromeda.

The reboot stars genre it-boy, Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes, Gemma Arterton and Jason Flemyng.

Two Badass Official Posters Revealed for Clash of the Titans

10 December 2009 9:09 AM, PST | firstshowing.net | See recent FirstShowing.net news »

Warner Brothers has finally debut the first two official posters for Louis Leterrier's Clash of the Titans today on Yahoo. We've already seen some of these before, as a big batch of posters leaked out back in November. However, now we get nice, clean, high res looks at these posters for the Clash of the Titans and I've got to say I'm pretty damn impressed. As a huge fan of the original movie, I've been very nervous about this remake, but these posters are exactly what I wanted to see for a modern day rehash of the epic man vs myth story. Combined with that teaser trailer (that I liked), I've got to say I'm pretty damn excited for this! Follows Perseus and his quest to battle Medusa and the Kraken in order to save the Princess Andromeda. Clash of the Titans is directed by French filmmaker Louis Leterrier, »

trailer break: ‘Clash of the Titans’ teaser

13 November 2009 9:00 AM, PST | www.flickfilosopher.com | See recent FlickFilosopher news »

I guess this is cool and all, but why does it feel really familiar? Should I have been getting flashes of The Lord of the Rings from a story set in the ancient world? Maybe I’m just worn out from these kinds of movies. I’ll certainly see the film and I’ll probably even like it... though I’d be happier if this was more like director Louis Leterrier’s first movie, Unleashed, than like Transporter 2, which was just preposterous, or like his The Incredible Hulk, which lost its way in the end. But I’m tired of seeing the same old stuff over and over and over again. Maybe I’m just exhausted cuz it’s Friday. Anyway: Sam Worthington is Perseus here, and between Terminator Salvation and Avatar and this, I’m certain he’s the new somebody. I’m not sure which somebody yet, »

‘From Paris with Love’ Red Band Trailer

17 September 2009 10:16 AM, PDT | ScreenRant.com | See recent Screen Rant news »

John Travolta: the name used to be synonymous with dancing, bad accents, Scientology, and mediocre films. Then Pulp Fiction came out and reminded everyone in Hollywood that he’s actually a pretty good leading man. Often times he plays such an intriguing bad guy, that one can’t help but enjoy his performance, whether you want to or not.  Arguably, he was the best part about Face/Off, Primary Colors, A Civil Action, The General’s Daughter, Swordfish and even the ridiculous Battlefield Earth.

After this summer’s mild hit The Taking of Pelham 123, Travolta will channel his best Denzel Washington from Training Day in Pierre Morel’s latest action flick From Paris with Love.  Co-starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers (The Tudors, August Rush) as an embassy worker who gets paired up with Detective Wax (Travolta) in Paris, the two seem to work together on a French drug deal - or are they? »

Clash of the Titans Set Footage

5 September 2009 7:55 AM, PDT | ScreenRant.com | See recent Screen Rant news »

Today we have a quick but cool look at the production of the upcoming remake of the classic film, Clash of the Titans, starring Sam Worthington (Avatar, Terminator Salvation). In addition to this, we also have some new info from Worthington himself about the monsters of the film - the giant scorpions and the infamous Medusa - and the epic scope of it.

First up is some new set footage from Clash of the Titans. The video runs only about a minute long but it gives us a nice look into the filming of one of the more epic remakes in the pipeline - It’s just a neat teasing hint at what’s in store for us from director Louis Leterrier.

I won’t say anymore but rather just let the footage speak for itself. Thanks to MTV, take a look:

Louis Leterrier would do 'Hulk 2' while Matthew Vaughn would love to direct 'Avengers'

While I did not entirely enjoy Ang Lee's "Hulk" from a few years ago, I admit I had quite a blast watching "The Incredible Hulk" from director Louis Leterrier, whose credits also include the so-so "Danny the Dog" and okay "Transporter 2."

Well, according to Moviehole, Leterrier wouldn't mind stepping behind the camera for a "Hulk" sequel. "Sure. I'd return to it. I have some ideas. So many ideas for so many things," Leterrier told the Web site. »

Clash of the Titans Remake Adds Three to Cast

Okay, so I will be the first to admit that I am getting kind of tired of the endless remake films that seems to be plaguing Hollywood these days. However, I must say that I am a little more than intrigued by the Warner Bros./Legendary Pictures remake of the1981 legendary classic Clash of the Titans.
