Danish television's longest-running news program, broadcast daily for more than 40 years. Since the 1990s the main time slots have been at 18:30 and 21:00. The program includes weather forecasts and in many cases also serves as a lead-in to DR's other news and sports programs. Written by

On 9 January 2007 the Danish newspaper Politiken published an article in which Per Gad-Hansen, Manager of Danmarks Radio's Archives, states that many of Danmarks Radio's broadcast tapes containing productions from before 1987 have been deleted (taped over to save production costs for other DR productions), including many of the daily news broadcasts of "TV-Avisen" (1965). From 1984, though, all episodes of "TV-Avisen" (1965) still exist in DR's archives. See more
