Another sign of tiny progress made in the Chinese war movies, 16 February 2004
Author: zzmale

The literal translation of the title of this movie is: The Military Train Breaks out the Encirclement.

This movie deserves a positive credit because it depicts war more realistically than previous Chinese war movies, which always depicted the enemy as fools. This movie, in contrast, paints an honest picture of the enemy, who are also smart, cunning, and dedicated, and therefore a worthy opponent. Such honest depiction of enemy in this movie is one of its first in Chinese film industry.
