"Huband's Reunion" is one of the late short comedies made by Mack Sennett. Walter Catlett is the center of this comedy. He and female lead, Nora Lane, keep their first names. The two had been married but were now divorced. Grady Sutton plays Elmer, Nora's new husband of two weeks.
The setting is in a courtroom with flashbacks. Walter is a wanderer, and Elmer is on trial for having given him a dose of buckshot in the rump while on a hunting trip for Swiss Grouse. You can tell that game bird by its distinct call yodelayio. Walter is often mistaken for his amorous advances, but it's not hard to see why. In the end, Elmer is declared innocent by the judge who picks up his shotgun, brought as an item of evidence, to himself deliver a salvo of shot to Walter in the behind. The wily Walter has been carrying on with his honor's wife in the courtroom.
This is one of those wacky Mack Sennett shorts that have any number of unrelated things tossed in so long as it's comedy. And that makes it all the funnier. See the Quotes section for some funny lines from this film, here on the film's IMDb Web page.
