The Aviator (2004)
This is referenced when Hughes wants another camera, and someone replies that " DeMille is making a biblical picture involving a crucifixion". In 1927, this could only be Demille's version of The King of Kings.
This film is mentioned in one of the 1927 scenes, where it is declared that the film will be a huge hit. Ironically, it's one of the most searched-after lost films today.

When talking to a waitress at the Cocoanut Grove, Hughes gives his hotel room number as 217. This is an oblique reference to The Shining. The Overlook hotel of The Shining was once owned (and is haunted) by "Horace Derwent", a figure based on Howard Hughes. It's most haunted room is room 217, where Danny is attacked by the woman in the bath. Room 237 was used in the film of The Shining (the novel had the room as 217) to avoid hotel guests being scared of room 217.
