Happy Days Reunion Special (1992)

*** (out of 4)

Henry Winkler hosts this reunion special, which features interviews with Ron Howard, Tom Bosley, Marion Ross, Garry Marshall, Don Most, Anson Williams, Scott Baio, Al Molinaro and Pat Morita.

If you're a fan of the television show then you'll certainly be entertained by this special, which has interviews with the majority of the main cast members. The best thing about this are certainly the interviews as the cast members look back at a "happy" period in their careers. It's certainly fun getting to see everyone reunited, although this really doesn't happen until the very end of the special. The majority of the running time are clips from the actual series and these are of course fun to see as well.

Happy Days was a show created by Garry Marshall. It ran in the years 1974-1984 for 11 seasons and 255 episodes. It showed us an American way of living in the late 50's, early 60's.There were the most sympathetic characters.Arthur "Fonzie" Fonzarelli was cool with his thumbs and how he could make things happen just by snapping his fingers.Richie Cunningham was more of a humdrum but still pretty cool.He got plenty of dates with girls, sure.It just wasn't quite as easy for him as it was for "The Fonz".Howard Cunningham and his wife Marion were the parents who would often get frisky.Joanie was the know-it-all daughter.Ralph Malph and Potsie Weber were the geeky friends.Arnold Takahashi was the owner of Arnold's drive-in, where the teens would hang out.Later the lovable Al was in charge of the place.Fonzie's younger cousin Chachi Arcola at least tried to be as cool as his relative in leather jacket.I had my first taste of Happy Days in the mid-nineties.I became a huge fan then.Sometime ago they started showing the show again and I still love it.We're at the fifth season now.In Happy Days Reunion Special from 1992 those a little aged stars are sharing their memories.Tom Bosley is there with his TV wife Marion Ross.Ron Howard, the now successful director is there.Only Erin Moran of the Cunningham family couldn't be there then.Oh yeah, and of course Chuck.Where is Chuck, anyway? Henry Winkler is there a little less cool than his TV persona.Scott Baio is there. Then there are Anson Williams and Don Most, who's still got it.The late great Pat Morita is there.Al Molinaro, who joined the show after Pat left, is there. And the creator Garry Marshall is there. This special contains some great clips, like the one with Mork from Ork, portrayed by Robin Williams. And all those times Richie sings Blueberry Hill by Fats Domino. How great is it when the whole gang, Henry, Ronnie, Anson and Donny sing the song! It's very cool to see the gang together again. In 2005 they made an other reunion.I hope I'll get to see that soon because I haven't yet.But this is great. Both thumbs up!
