This is one of the standard political propaganda of the late Cultural Revolution era. What this film differs from those in the earlier films is that since the defense minister, Field Marshal Lin Biao tried to assassinate Chairman Mao and eventually killed, the roles of People's Liberation Army that was dominant in earlier films were downplayed.
