The literal translation of the title of this movie is: Together under the Blue Sky.
This movie made in the early era of the Chinese reform in the 1980's is obviously impossible not to have the common topic of its time, namely, the introspection and criticism on the political movement, such as the disastrous Cultural Revolution.
The movie did an all right job on this but it also took a little step further in extreme caution: instead of purely recording and criticizing what went wrong, it also ventured into the area of asking why things went wrong.
