The close of this picture is put in a new way. A newspaper headline announces that "Joseph Hageman Accidentally Killed Himself." Hageman was a very mean husband, and the assumption is that he was killed by the man who loved his wife, but the observer is left somewhat in the dark as to the exact manner of the killing. At the same time, the final scene, where the husband finds the lover with his wife, is quite dramatic. - The Moving Picture World, September 27, 1913
