The literal translation of the title of this film is: Bridge of Flowers.
This film is similar to Xiao Hua (Little Flower) made in the same year but unlike the latter which is more emphasized on love and romance, this movie has a little more political propaganda. Still, this film is worth the credit for being the sign of personal liberalization in the era of reform for that it explores interpersonal relationships of war time era instead of being a pure political propaganda piece.
