The literal translation of the title of this film is: After the harvest.
This film is part of the scheme of Mao's reclaim of power: after the three year famine in the early 1960's due to the disastrous Great Leap Forward political movement, Mao gave up the position of the Chairman of the State, and thus losing the control in governmental administration, while holding on to the remaining two: chairman of the communist party, which controls the communist party, and chairman of the military committee, which controls the military. Mao feared losing power further and launched his campaign to regain power as soon as the famine is over and this film and its kind serve as part of its propaganda.
