This is much better than the original, it has a slightly different story, which is better, better voices and characters but I wouldn't say it is good for children: There is mild violence and some bits where they may be scared.Overall it is a good film, but I wouldn't go out to buy it, especially not for children who enjoyed the original, people who loved the original would HATE this. I also know a number of adults who hated this film because they thought it took the pee out of the original (which people could say it did) as the characters (mostly the witch) are more abstract.
