This movie was so good, and sad. I never saw the part coming in when Ian protected Samantha when they were about to crash. It was a good ending and a good movie. I think Jennifer love Hewitt was very good in this movie, it was like she was her character and not just playing it. I like to see that in movies. I also like one of her lines in which she says she doesn't want to be adored but loved. It was one of the greatest love movies that i have ever seen. I wonder when it's going to be in DVD or VHS, i don't even know if its already on that. One thing i didn't really like was when they were in the airport and all the people were moving fast and Ian wasn't , it looked kind of weird. Well besides that, it was great and people should watch it.
Jennifer Love Hewitt not only was fantastic in her acting performance but in her singing also. The acting by the whole cast draws you into the story of true love. Her role in the show "Ghost Whisperer" has shown me that Jennifer has learned to act, and this movie really concretes that fact. Now she can add singing and song writing to her resume. Both of the songs were well written and performed by her. Added is the performances of the whole cast. A truly wonderful movie and a real gem for the whole family, also a great date movie that will bring a great conversation to the whole night. Now I feel that Jennifer can pull any acting job that she wants, a producers and directors dream leading woman. Congratulations to the whole cast and crew.
"If Only" is simply one of these movies you just can't stop watching. any of us can relate to these characters. after all, they're only two people struggling to love each other, no matter what tomorrow may bring. it makes you wonder whether you're just too busy to remember _ or even to notice _ those simple little things that made you fall in love in the first place. and what better way to re-discover what your love is all about than to get a second chance? the question is, if there are no second chances, what shall we do? well, after watching "If Only", the thought of being aware of the shortness of our time makes us want to live it to the fullest... what if tomorrow never comes? what would be left unsaid?...
it was the most touching movie i've ever watched, i was really
impressed. after this movie i understood once again, we should show our
love to the people we love. we may love someone deeply but we sometimes
just don't show it often, this is about the personality we have i
think. it's just killing to lose someone we love that happened to me.
and this movie just reminded me those awful moments, and i couldn't
stop myself crying and crying..
Before lose people you care of, just show them how much you care them ..because life is really short than expected, and thanks to these kind of movies we remember this truth..
i did like a lot Hewitt's performance and voice. She was great in all screns. Wyndham's performance was impressive too..The details make this movie special for me..
I just spend my last 5 min filling up some registrations for this comment only to say that this movie is one of few movies that really got me and made me cried,,, i love a movie like this one,,, showing you how love is true, whether you're watching it from a movie or you're living it. Tells you the things you should do for love if you don't know yet and the things that makes you whole if you already do,,, well, anyways, i just want to tell everyone that this movie is great and so was Jennifer and Paul. (i guess i still can't share my opinion to you guys because of this 10 line minimum comment, so ill just have to think of something and i think this should do the trick^_^).
This movie is a treasure... i cried several times while watching this
movie simply because i can truly relate with the characters. i
particularly like this line: "i don't want to be adored, i want to be
loved..." the movie made me realize that nothing beats the feeling of
being loved and cared for. this is definitely one of the most memorable
and moving movies i've seen so far... it depicts not only true
love...but most importantly, about life. if Only became some sort of an
eye opener for me...we can only live once, and every moment
counts...don't be afraid to open your heart to love now, 'coz you might
not have the chance anymore if you wait to long... Two thumbs up for
this movie! i love it! :)
P.S. ;) "...and this, this is a heart, my heart... it's yours now..." Who in the world would not fall in love this line? ;)

JLH has a massive fan base consisting of all Males 12-80, and females
12-18 and up - and a large segment in Korea. As the IMDb bio. shows,
she is making hay .. with NBC series starting Sept. '05. These 2 2004
unreleased-(or quickly passed)-in-the-US movies (The Truth above Love
being the other) movies, plus the large number in 2005, show: That JLH
as Producer, Exec. Consultant or whatever) has grabbed the initiative
and is off and running. Snide comments on her acting ability are
irrelevant. Even if we have seen her iconic close-up - goofy grin and
crinkled-up eyes - for 6 years now, it is still endearing. These two
DVDs are therefore an absolute must for even mild JLH fans.(available
from Korea; you need a $99 Global DVD; experiment with the White plug
in a different hole on the DVD player, to get the spoken Soundtrack; go
from Menu to Setup, the setup option is the third one down, if labeled
in Korean; select subtitles: "English" -this is the best I have been
able to do- and hit the Select button - the middle of the directional
circle of 4 - on your remote. Hit "Resume")
JLH - a violinist but closet Song-writer and singer - lives with Brit boyfriend (Paul Nichols) in London, but he doesn't "open up" to her sufficiently. A crucial day in their lives ends badly with her leaving to go back to Ohio. In "Groundhog Day" mode, Paul gets one chance to repeat the day, advised by a mysterious cab-driver. The ending could have been a happier one, but presumably JLH thought otherwise.
The best movie of 2004. I have seen it 20 times and I will see it 20 more times. Jennifer Love Hewitts best performance to date. No movie has ever made me cry like this. There were also some good laughs. Other reviewers mention plot holes but they never give any specifics. That's because there are none. The more you see this film the more you realize just how tight the plot is. This is all irrelevant anyway because this movie isn't about plot it's about people and emotions and love.It will make you take a hard look at your life and it might even nudge you into making some changes.Don't just watch this movie;live it. Enough of my rambling. See This Movie.---------------------------------
Usually when a film sits on a shelf unreleased in countries such as the
US and UK it usually means it's a real stinker and one which will never
make any money.
If Only is a surprise purely because it's not a disaster. In fact it has a lot going for it. The film deals with losing love in tragic circumstances but then getting another chance to do things differently. Obviously it's fantasy but it's a compelling story that makes you think more after you've seen the film.
Jennifer Love Hewitt is sparky and very likable in the female lead while Paul Nicholls makes a good leap from the TV screen to the big screen. Together they have good chemistry and there are moments that make you smile, at other times you're feeling for the characters.
On the negative side some of the script is clunky when it comes to portraying the British, there's also some holes concerning time where our characters take a train to the lake district from London and spend several hours there before being back in London for 7pm. In reality that just wouldn't be the case. It also doesn't end when it should and instead tacks on a several months later scenario.
Ultimately If Only is a nice way to spend 90-minutes. I honestly believe that is this movie had been picked up and marketed to women around valentines day then it could have been a modest success. It's certainly better than some of the trash that get's a mainstream release these days.
Well I just wanted to Post this little message to you all. I finally got the DVD!!!!!!! It took forever but i got it. my friends and i where looking online and found it in South Korea. it was like 21 bucks. anyhoo there are no special features and i had to download a new "region free" DVD player on my PC to watch it, seeing as i have no region 3 DVD player, it does cost about 50-70 dollars but it was worth it to me. the DVD player is called DVDx. try to search other "region free" players to find a cheaper one. you may have to search for a while to find the Korean website that you can buy it from but it's worth it. the DVD is in English and nothing fancy. pretty nice case though. i'll try to find the site for you so good luck and keep checking for my updates.
