Fine film fantasy for family fun

Author: herbqedi from New York, NY
6 April 2003

Little boy's wish to have dog goes awry when he gets turned into a German Shepherd. He gets to experience life as a dog for the longest 12 days of his life, and gets a dogs-eye view of life. The humans are just plot contrivances, but enjoyable ones, particularly Gordon Jump as the Wizard-of-Oz-like "Professor." Anne Lockhart and David Bowe are appropriately befuddles as Tim's parents, and the young actress playing Haley is simply adorable. Altogether, this is a simple, but addictive, family film.

Cute boy-becomes-dog story

Author: Sam-285 from Los Angeles, California
10 November 2002

A cute story about a boy that intends to wish he HAD a dog and instead wishes he IS a dog. The story is not spectacular beyond that but certainly is entertaining within the concept. Obviously the boy encounters many adventures as a dog in his attempt to return to being a boy. He desperately wants to be a boy in time for Christmas.
