WWE Is About To Do Something Pretty Wild & Shocking With Roman Reigns, New Details

1 October 2017 11:06 AM, PDT | OnTheFlix | See recent OnTheFlix news »

According to a new report from Forbes and a couple of other news outlets, it looks like the WWE is about to do something pretty wild with Roman Reigns' (above) character in an effort to try and cure Raw's declining ticket sales. Apparently, the WWE has plans to reunite Roman Reigns with his former tag team buddies Dean Ambrose and Seth "Freakin" Rollins to put The Shield back together again! They report that James McKenna of Pro Wrestling Sheet put out a tweet with a picture of the Shield. He captioned it with the words: "wowwww, hearing that to kickstart some ticket sales - they’re planning to give TLC in a month a Major card upgrade. its finally happeninggg." You guys can view the tweet on James McKenna's official Twitter account by Clicking Here. Forbes also said the Shield reunion was confirmed by the WWE booking team. »

WWE No Mercy 2017 Review

Liam Hoofe Reviews WWE No Mercy 2017…

WWE No Mercy boasted arguably the best card the company has put together this year. With two mega-matches sitting at the top of the card and every title being defended, the show had a lot to live up on Sunday night, but did it deliver? Let’s take a look at each match and see what worked and what didn’t.

Pre Show: Elias Defeated Apollo Crews

The last few pre-show matches have had some sort of title on the line and have therefore been worth watching. This one wasn’t. Both Elias and Apollo are talented guys but the company clearly has no idea what to do with them, so chucking them in a random pre-show match is as good as it’s going to get for both men at the moment.

The match itself was a standard match that wouldn’t look »

WWE No Mercy 2017 Predictions

Liam Hoofe with his predictions for Sunday’s No Mercy event…

WWE Raw presents No Mercy this Sunday, the company’s first PPV since SummerSlam at the end of August.

What a show the WWE has put together for this Sunday night as well. Not only is every title on the Raw brand being defended, but we are also being treated to two matches that are WrestleMania worthy. The show could easily turn out to be one of the best PPVs of the year and has had a pretty great build over the last few weeks.

So who is walking away from No Mercy with a tick in the win column? Let’s take a look at my predictions for each match.

Neville Vs Enzo Amore

Enzo Amore has had a strange few months. From being part of one of the company’s most popular tag teams to 205 Live, his »

Comic Book Review – WWE #8

Liam Hoofe reviews WWE #8…

With the help of Sasha Banks, the Lunatic Fringe embarks on his own fury road to snag the Money in the Bank briefcase that is rightfully his.

See Also: Check out a preview of the issue here

Boom! Studios latest comic book WWE #8 closes their Dean Ambrose arc in a surreal and highly enjoyable fashion, starting out with a bonkers car chase involving Ambrose, Sasha Banks, The Wyatt Family and Charlotte Flair and finishing up with Ambrose’s famous victory at Money in the Bank 2016.

Being a wrestling fan, by and large, involves extending your disbelief, and this comic in particular takes that one step further. The opening sequence, which sees all the aforementioned stars racing to get to the Money in The Bank Pay-Per-View is an utterly bonkers extension of all of the characters involved.

Dean Ambrose has been a stand out character in these comic books, »

WWE Bans Beach Balls After ‘SummerSlam’ Incident Involving Cesaro

24 August 2017 10:36 AM, PDT | The Wrap | See recent The Wrap news »

(Updated at 3:18 p.m. Et with comment from WWE.) Vince McMahon wants you to take your (beach) ball and go home: the pro-wrestling promotion banned the WWE Universe from bringing “beach balls, pool noodles or any other inflatable items that could be bounced around” for Tuesday’s “SmackDown Live” show, according to wrestling blog PWInsider. This week’s banishment stems from an incident during Sunday’s “SummerSlam” pay-per-view, in which WWE Superstar Cesaro left the ring apron, jumped the crowd barricade, and tore up a beach ball that was being bounced throughout the Barclays Center during his and Sheamus »

The Great White Way met the squared circle on Sunday night when “Hamilton” creator Lin-Manuel Miranda made a surprise appearance at WWE SummerSlam. Having won a Pulitzer, three Tony Awards, two Grammys, an Emmy and been nominated for an Oscar, Miranda easily slipped into the role of “excited WWE fan,” as he cheered and jeered along with the sell-out crowd. WWE ‘SummerSlam': Watch Braun Strowman Dump an Announce Table on Brock Lesnar (Video)

21 August 2017 6:45 AM, PDT | The Wrap | See recent The Wrap news »

Brock Lesnar may have finally met his match — something WWE will exploit in the near future for an actual match. As if Braun Strowman power-slamming “The Beast Incarnate” through two announce tables wasn’t enough to satisfy Sunday’s “SummerSlam” main event, the aptly monikered “Monster Among Men” dumped the third ringside desk onto the WWE Universal Champion’s already bruised body. Lesnar was carted off after gamely taking those rough bumps, seemingly turning the evening’s Fatal 4-Way into a Triple Threat match between remaining competitors Strowman, Roman Reigns and Samoa Joe. WWE SummerSlam took over the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, this weekend  — and, as expected, the result was epic. Comic Book Review – WWE SummerSlam Special 2017

Liam Hoofe reviews Boom! Studios’ WWE SummerSlam Special 2017…

WWE SummerSlam is one of the company’s biggest PPV’s and it has a long and storied history spanning back 29 years. The latest WWE special, SummerSlam 2017, from Boom! Studios gives us four stories based on historical moments and matches from the show, lovingly recreating them for long time lovers of the WWE product.

The first story in the collection is I Wined and Dined with Kings and Queens, a panel based on the matchup between Dusty Rhodes and Macho Man Randy Savage from the 1990 edition of the show. Told from the perspective of a fan who can’t decide which of the two stars he is loyal to in the build-up to the match, the story is an affectionate love letter to being a younger fan. SummerSlam has always had a special place in my heart as a fan, it was the first PPV I watched, »

WWE SummerSlam 2017 Predictions

18 August 2017 2:15 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Liam Hoofe predicts the results of this Sunday’s WWE SummerSlam event…

WWE SummerSlam – the biggest party of the Summer and the WWE’s second biggest PPV of the year – comes to us live this weekend from Brooklyn, NY. The show, which has one seriously stacked card, is expected to run for over 6 hours and features some of the year’s most intriguing match-ups, including arguably the biggest main event of 2017 so far.

Here are my predictions for this Sunday’s show.

Pre-Show: Neville Vs Akira Tozawa (Cruiserweight Title)

This week’s go home shows were surprising, to say the least. One of the biggest surprises was Neville dropping his Cruiserweight title to Akira Tozawa on Raw. While the decision to do it on an episode of Raw was baffling, if they have done it to get the rematch out of the way quickly and they move Neville up the card, »

WWE Great Balls of Fire Predictions

7 July 2017 9:18 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Liam Hoofe predicts the results for this Sunday’s Great Balls of Fire Pay Per View…

While it might have the most ridiculous name in the history of WWE pay per views, Great Balls of Fire’s inaugural event this coming Sunday night is actually looking to be a pretty entertaining show.

Raw, despite having hit a creative stumbling block in the first half of the year, has really found its rhythm over the last month and has put together a card full of matches that actually make sense. Every match on this card has had a solid build and the event will no doubt prosper because of this.

With Summerslam just around the corner, the events of this Sunday’s PPV will dictate a lot of the summer storylines in the WWE, so let’s take a look at each match and predict who is going to walk away the winner. »

When Satire Becomes Real

On this week’s Smackdown, Jinder Mahal revealed the stipulation for his third WWE Championship match against Randy Orton: the dreaded Punjabi Prison. ‘Dreaded’ because the matches in it are usually pretty rubbish.

While a Steel Cage stipulation only has one layer of entrapment, the Punjabi Prison surrounds its competitors with two – an inner cage of bamboo, with an octagonal structure topped with ‘razor-sharp bamboo spikes’. It’s so successful, there’s only been two Punjabi Prison matches in WWE history, and the stipulation hasn’t been used in over a decade.

But according to satirical wrestling website KayFabe News – who publish humorously fake articles – this has been the plan all along.

Reddit user GeePrimus has unearthed a 2012 article from the site entitled: ‘Jinder Mahal only hired so WWE can use »

How WWE Should’ve Booked Undertaker Vs Roman Reigns

‘Smart’ professional wrestling criticism and fantasy booking isn’t just consigned to Internet fandom, four-year-olds also like to do WWE’s job better than them too.

Michelle McCool has posted a photo of her and The Undertaker’s daughter on Instagram watching Roman ReignsSummerslam announcement from this week’s Raw, where she proceeded to tell her father how to beat The Big Dawg and reclaim his Yard.

Of course! He should’ve used his muscles! It’s so obvious now.

And Younger Taker wasn’t the only person looking to beat up The Big Dawg…

Fishy Situation

Braun Strowman made his WWE return on this week’s Raw by bursting out an ambulance, screaming his own name, and beating up Roman Reigns. Strowman had been out with injury since last month after undergoing minor shoulder surgery.

As he keeps reminding The Big Dawg, Braun isn’t finished with Roman just yet, and their Ambulance Match at Great Balls of Fire was announced soon after. Unfortunately, Strowman’s follow-up trashtalking on Twitter contained a slight autocorrect mistake:

Told you #ImNotFishedWithYou

— Braun Strowman (@BraunStrowman) June 20, 2017

Never mind the yard. What about the sea!? All hail the new Poseidon, Braun Strowman!

Raw ratings

With the NBA Playoff season coming to an end, Monday Night Raw bounced back from last week’s 2.53 million low to 3.1 million viewers.

53% of you agreed with me that it was a Cor show, while 33% were slightly less impressed at AvRAWge.

Daniel Bryan Shoots On WWE

Daniel Bryan made his return on last night’s episode of Smackdown, stripping Carmella of her freshly won Money in the Bank briefcase. But her sportsman-like tactics weren’t the only thing Bryan wasn’t happy with in WWE, as he told NBC Sports:

“I think a change of presentation is absolutely necessary. I think the way that we present our superstars probably needs to change…when you watch say Ufc for example, some of the things that are the most endearing, that make you care the most about the fighters are these backstage vignettes that show their real personality…I think changing that dynamic and highlighting the personalities is something we really need to do.”

Breezeango’s Fashion Files skits are a perfect example of this, as is Daniel Bryan’s own success with the Dr Shelby segments when getting over Team Hell No with Kane. The Smackdown Gm mentioned American Alpha as one of WWE’s more recent failings.

And in another interview with Sports Illustrated, Bryan said he’s still “working on” an in-ring return.

Roman Reigns Big Announcement

Roman Reigns opened Raw with his big Summerslam announcement – or, as Michael Cole put it, his big hashtag Summerslam announcement – declaring himself No. 1 contender for the Universal Title. His well-thought out reason? Because this is his yard, obviously.

Samoa Joe rightfully thought this was bollocks, so came down and headbutted Roman right in the chest. God, Joe’s great. Reigns stood tall in the ensuing scuffle, and a match was made between them for later that night.

Hardy Boyz beat Galanderson

Matt was back to overtly leading Delete chants in the Hardy Boyz victory over Galanderson, hinting talks are back on with Impact Wrestling over the Broken Universe gimmick rights.
