Brock is now the big thing!
31 August 2002 | by (Nashville, TN) – See all my reviews

This event was very hyped and hyped well I was so excited going into it. The event started off with what I thought was one of the better matches of the night Rey Mysterio vs Kurt Angle. Good match as expected as Kurt Angle won with the ankle lock, the crowd was really into this and both men worked well together. Next was what I figured to be the worst match of the night, Chris Jericho vs the over the hill 52 year old Ric Flair. The match was a little better than expected but still nothing great, Flair had to resort to about a dozen chops throughout the match and their timing in the finish was poor, Flair actually won with the figure-four which is rare. Match 3 was Edge Vs Eddie Guerrero, pretty good match here onlike problem was Eddie worked on Edge's right shoulder a lot, it may be good for old school fans and good for all the psychological crap but I like most fans like the high impact moves but other than that it was a good match. Next up we had the jealous Canadians, which all countries are of the USA, Christian & Lance Storm defend their tag titles against Booker T and Goldust, decent match but why keep the belts on the two weiner Canadians which the crowd cares nothing about? The fans like Booker T and Goldust a lot more this was just stupid to keep the belts on the Canadians, plus they cheated with help from Test which they would need in reality. Match 5 was the one I was looking to most of the night as Chris Benoit defended his IC title against RVD, this match for me was disappointing it was good but not as good as I'd hoped, Benoit worked on the arm a lot which I hate, however he did it more interesting than most do, he hit 3 straight northern-lights suplexes and floated over to hold onto the arm after each one, that was pretty cool hadn't seen it before, however the match was still a let down but RVD did win back his IC title so I'm glad for that. Next up we saw a dumb Canadian fall despite trying to cheat as Undertaker defeated Test with a tombstone piledriver, afterwards he held up the beautiful American flag in the ring, however Taker should retire along with Flair he's over the hill too. And up next was the match of the night! I'm pretty sure it surpassed anybody's hopes for this match as HBK actually went about 25 minutes and put on a great match against Triple H! Amazing considering the man hurt his back so badly over 4 years ago, this match will be remembered forever! It was truly amazing considering what we all expected from HBK. And the main event was the very very hyped Rock vs Brock for the world title, the match was ok I suppose but the Rock acted really dumb in the match which kind of affected it. Lots of Rocky sucks chants and the crowd was glad to see a new champion in Brock Lesnar crowned. I think it's too soon to make Brock champ. But this was a good event and HBK wrestling and putting on a great show makes it an awesome ppv!
