Trivia

This was the fourth and last "Murder, She Wrote" movie of the week that CBS Television/Les Moonvies negotiated with Peter and Angela Shaw, "Corymore Productions", fulfilling the negotiated settlement canceling the very popular series in 1996. The original Cabot Cove (Mendocino, California series location) never was considered for use as a basis of a story plot in any of the projected four MOW projects. Peter and Angela wished to close the show-series occurring in Ireland. During the twelve years of the CBS series, many story plots, scenarios, had been set in Ireland. Set in Ireland, second unit filming always was organized to film establishing exterior buildings, landscapes, an automobile driving on country lanes with matching vehicles filmed in conjunction of the film's local Los Angeles exteriors. This last project gave an excuse for Angela and Peter to film the Ireland inserted establishing shots after filming was completed at Universal Studios. After these exterior Ireland street establishing insert shots were completed, the editors completed and delivered the finished two hour special to CBS. Filmed during 2002, the last "Murder, She Wrote" aired in 2003, after Peter Shaw's death in January 29, 2003. The film was dedicated as a memorial to Peter Shaw Pullen. See more »

The legend that is
13 March 2007 | by See all my reviews

The film the Celtic riddle is a legendary piece of film art. Jessica fletcher at her finest (as always). The plot infallible, the characters despite the badly fake Irish accents are what we would call shadows to Angela's amazing acting abilities. I find Jessica's ability to spot a large haematoma on the back of someones head from a great distance to be an amazing talent. One which many a health-care professional could do with. Despite the Northern Licence Plates in what should be a film set in the south of Ireland. Being Irish myself I find it is not very often that Northern licence plates are found in the Republic, especially not on police cars, which by the way should be the Garda.

Despite these errors, minor flaws, I still find the Celtic riddle to be the greatest film to be released in 2003. I wish Angela Lansbury all the best in future film making, hoping she does return to Ireland as Jessica Fletcher, taking on-board my constructive criticism of course.

Lots of Luv and respect From Louise Brick
