Lord Samsey murders his uncle in order to get rich. His sister's boyfriend vows to find who the murderer is so he can clear his wrongly accused father.

Lord Samsey loves an artist, Nelly Star who does not take his attachment seriously. Believing his lack of wealth is the problem, the Lord murders his uncle, a rich American as he is coming out of a casino in Chamonix with his money in cash. Several clues erroneously point do Dr. Pierre Millot who cannot give an alibi for a matter of honor. His son André loves Geneviève, the Lord's sister, and to prove his father's innocence, he looks for the culprit and finds him.
