Astonishingly bad
18 March 2004 | by (la) – See all my reviews

This is a stiffly acted, poorly written, cliche ridden, badly directed excuse for a movie to have its writer/director/producer John Leguizamo be in a boxing movie. The dialog was so bad, it's astonishing that even HBO allowed this, despite their love of Leguizamo. There wasn't an original thought in this movie and even the fight scenes were plain boring. I like Leguizamo too, but not in this horrible movie. The only thing he didn't do was have the main character jog through the streets of Phillie. This movie is on the same level as the awful 1970s TV movie starring EriK Estrada called "HoneyBoy."....
